Do you believe in UFOs, astral projection, mental telepathy, ESP, clairvoyance, spirit photography, telekinetic movement, full trance mediums, the Loch Ness monster and the theory of Atlantis? Do you have problems of a supernatural nature in your garage? The Volo Auto Museum in Volo, Ill., is ready to believe you and relieve you of your hauntings with the actual Ghostbusters Ecto 1. If you're interested in buying, be ready for Volo to also exorcise $149,000 from your bank account.
Before George Barris got a hold of it, Ecto 1 was a very straight, rust-free 1959 Miller-Meteor Cadillac ambulance. Now it transcends its humble ambulance beginnings and has become an icon of 1980s film.

Wow!
This, the Mach 5 and the original Bat Mobile may be the most important cars in all of moviedom.
What others are there? Perhaps Bonds Aston Martin DB.
What else?
Non-Bizarro Adam @ Jan 28th 2007 9:45AM
What about Bullitt's Mustang, the Delorean Time Machine, the Plymouth Fury in Christine, and The Blues Brother's Dodge?
Quills R. Optional @ Jan 28th 2007 10:20AM
The most important car in moviedom?
The Trans Am from Smokie and the Bandit!
Non-Bizarro Adam @ Jan 28th 2007 10:50AM
Good call, Quills, I knew there was an important one I was forgetting.

With the prices at Scottdale Barrett-Jackson, $149k seems almost reasonable. Wonder why they didn't run it across there?
David @ Jan 28th 2007 11:40AM
Wow, that is really a good deal. I mean what other car can you buy for that much that can turn as many heads and be accepted at almost any car show?
Tyo @ Jan 28th 2007 12:39PM
KNIGHT RIDER
Greg @ Jan 28th 2007 12:45PM
I wonder if the buyer also assumes the marketing rights?

There a several James Bond DB5's around that were made for Goldfinger. Apparently there is also one that was stolen and never recovered.

Once again.. Autoblog gets it wrong.
That is a replica. It is not the correct Miller Meteor. Barris had nothing to do with the original cars.
Richard @ Jan 28th 2007 3:26PM
Yeah!
I thought this too recent - and frankly too stock in terms of the actual body - to be a Barris creation.
Bulitt's Mustang...glad Ford is leveraging that.
Aston should do a Bond Edition Vanquish.
Arun @ Jan 28th 2007 5:46PM
Uh... 1969 Dodge Charger aka General Lee?
Dukes of Hazzard anyone? (and yes that's the correct speeling of Hazzard).
Albin @ Jan 28th 2007 6:23PM
Kit from Knight Rider? Who could forget the faithful companion to the sexiness that is David Hasselhoff in this classic 1980's television show.
haha...

Bond's Aston Martin DB5 went last year at auction. Too late to catch that one.
Billy @ Jan 29th 2007 1:18AM
as far as the General Lee, they went through two of them per episode, so, there is no way to get THE original. I guess, at that time, it wasn't hard to keep on buying more and more of that model.
who...me? @ Jan 29th 2007 8:46PM
don't forget the '73 Falcon Road Warrior ride.
The Starsky and Hutch Torino and the Don Johnson Challenger
scott @ Feb 2nd 2007 2:21PM
I'll take the Munster's Koach, or grandpa's Dragula, now we're talking cars!
Beamer @ Feb 2nd 2007 2:29PM
What about the White 1970 Challenger in Vansihing Point? What an ending to a film. Or the T-Bird in Thekma & Louise? What a waste of car and babes...
Let's not forget the Monster Mobile and Herbie #57...
uofmiamilaw @ Feb 2nd 2007 2:43PM
I'd like to roll around town the The Beverly Hillbilly's truck. What about the Munster's vehicles. They were pretty cool.
LINDA @ Feb 2nd 2007 2:56PM
Am I the only one who saw THE CAR and wanted that vehicle?
