MINI Clubman to debut in Frankfurt

For those of you interested in the impending reveal of MINI's stretched hatch, Motoring File has the goods on what debuts are coming over the next couple of years. For those of you who aren't, feel free to waste some time here.
Photos and technical information will likely be revealed sometime this summer, with the public debut of the Clubman being held at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show on September 11th and 12th. A production version will be unveiled in Detroit in January of 2008, with sales beginning in Europe in November of '08 and sometime in the U.S. that winter.
Naturally, MINI will be offering the Clubman in exclusive colors, including Java Grey, Sand Glow and Hot Chocolate, the latter being the Clubman's launch color. Expect more details about interior flavors over the next few months.

I'm a big Mini/MINI fan. I still don't get why they're calling this the "Clubman." The Clubman wasn't the wagon/estate version of the Mini. The estate version was called the "Countryman" or the "Clubman Estate." The Clubman was an entirely different beast with a different nose, there were "Clubman" and "Clubman Estate" and it simply signifies a different front end treatment to the Mini.

I currently have a 1967 Countryman aka Mini Estate, and it doesn't have the square nose.
