He's Big in Japan: KITT at the Tokyo Auto Salon

He's big. He's black. He's an international superstar. And he's in Japan.
We are, of course, referring to KITT, the real star of NBC's late, great 1980s primetime hit, Knight Rider. Sure, there was an actor on that show as well, but when we were in grammar school, we were all about the car, not that guy. (Who, by the way was recently seen on the E! True Hollywood Story sporting a t-shirt emblazoned with "Don't Hassel the Hoff." No, we're not making it up.)
And those of you fortunate enough to pay a visit to the Tokyo Auto Salon should note that you aren't seeing double -- it appears that two KITTs are on hand at the show. This is both thrilling and sad at the same time. Thrilling because there's always room for more KITT. Sad because it means that there are more Trans Ams on the floor at the Tokyo Auto Salon than the Detroit Auto Show this week. Our world has been turned upside-down.

That car brings back the memories. I wonder if we will ever see shows like this again.

Not entirely on topic, but during one trip to Japan, I saw some Detroit cars that you might not expect, particularly because they weren't cars that the then, Big 3, developed or marketed for the Japanese market.

a few things
1.) that point at the front of the grill ahead of KITT's whoo whoo thing, that is unfamiliar to me and I have grown up on KR. is that an artifact of the strange picture angle, or is this just a someone's customized Transam with a whoo whoo thing pretending to be the most advance vehicle the 80's and television could ever produce. :)
2.) I think you guys misinterpreted something... you said that there were two KITTs at the show, but could it in fact have been one KITT and one KARR? If you stick around you may see another titanic Irresistible force vs. immovable object battle before your very eyes!!!
