Bond to drive Jag XF in next flick

After the debut of the Aston Martin DBS in the most recent Bond flick, "Casino Royale," it looks like 007 No. 22 will feature the incredible "concept" Jaguar C-XF unveiled this week in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show.
Ford still has a $100 million dollar, three-movie deal for exclusive product placement that began with "Die Another Day" in 2002. Wouldn't this be a great way to kick off the sales of such a beautiful new automobile? With Aston Martin still on the auction block, the new Jag looks like a logical next step to us.

I don't see why not, the Jag is a clone of the Aston Martin. They both have almost the same exact shape.

Thumbs down, looks like a Dodge Intrepid body with a Volvo face and an Aston hood. Maybe Bond can make it sexy still.

I wouldn't kick it out of bed. Frankly, though, the best-looking car in Casino Royale is the Ford Mondeo.

Is this thing the final bastardized version of what was code named the RD-6? As seen here:

I hope not. If so, what the hell happened?

Lets all welcome Jaguar to the Jelly-Bean Club.

The only thing "Jaguar" about it are the headlamps and the badge. The rest is just leftovers from Aston or Volvo. I like the door handles, but they're from the Alfa 156. I hope the real XF is better looking, the look is nice on the coupe, but you need something more masculine on a sedan. They could always just make it a "4 door coupe" like the Merc CLS.

Just what every spy should drive who wishes to remain incognito. It's not half as good looking as the Mondeo or the Aston Martin IMO.

I like it, but of course they'll need to make room for some low-end Ford world-car in the next flick, or maybe Panda could be the highest bidder - or even that ugly Chinese SUV thing.
Personally I love the looks of this thing. Now if only they don't crash it within 45-seconds of driving it in the next flick. That scene in Casino Royale only served to make me sick to my stomach. Not that Bond might be hurt - but that the car was wrecked. Waste of a good car in my opinion.

@allen
3 cars were destroyed for that scene. That's right, 3 Aston Martin DBS cars were destroyed.

ZZZ is as fugly as an Aztek

Autoblog: Please filter out all comments containing "fugly". Espicially if it is a part of a single sentence comment. It contributes nothing.
While were at it, you can filter references to new models being as ugly as a Pontiac Aztek. It's out of production, get over it.

Looks like a Scion with about fifteen hundred bucks of cheesy fiberglass work.

The front of this car looks like a mazerati

Bottom line is money wins again. Why? Because James Bond is supposed to drive and Aston Martin and commercialism changing that. What next? Anhueser Busch will take over as alcohol sponsor. What will it be Mr Bond? Natural Light, not shaken or stirred, in a can please. Oh wait, what have you got on tap?
CAROL @ Jan 20th 2007 10:45AM
