VIDEO: Steal an Evo!
There's a certain indefinable "quality" about flashy, rally-derived Japanese sedans. Those big air scoops, the ostentatiously over-sized rear wings, the jumbo rims... it all just screams "steal me!" Evidently Mitsubishi thinks their Evo IX is theft-worthy, too, as demonstrated by this promotional video. Seems their security personnel are too preoccupied watching rally footage to notice one of their street machines being stolen – spy-flick style – right out from under their noses.

^don't feed the troll^
Wish they could have shown a little more sideways driving that the Evo's are famous for (rather than just flashy shots of the car), but in these days the laywers would be all over that.

Mmmmmm I love me some Evo.
Sweet ad... could watch it again and again.
I like what they've done with the Evo IX's styling... looks like the Evo 7, my fave. Good job, Mitsu! If only I could afford one :(

Did anyone else notice that the tach was shown going down and not up? Does anyone else find this strange?

Yes, tach thing was a little unconventional. It felt like a "cool off" thing, rather than a progression to excitement and pure driving bliss. Evo + rain + dirt road = tons of fun.

The video is pretty bad.
I like the Evo, but you'll notice there was a concentrated effort never to show a sideview of the car, since that's when the car looks like any other sedan with a ridiculous spoiler on the back.

Define Irony: a Mitsubishi commercial in which an Evo is shown racing around a track while there have been documented instances of Mitsubishi denying warranty claims for Evos that had been raced.
