Ford has announced slightly smaller pricing for some of its 2008 Super Duty pickups. A 2008 F-250 Super Duty Regular Cab XL 4x2 will start at $23,305 ($150 less than a 2007), while the top end Crew Cab Lariat 4x4 before options will be $38,425 ($245 less).

Ken @ Jan 5th 2007 8:01AM
Why "does" they? Now I know why "you's" don'ts get it!
Murphy @ Jan 5th 2007 8:13AM
I absolutely love this truck!! Can't wait till they hit the market.
jap cars suck @ Jan 5th 2007 8:18AM
hey sam...have you ever seen guys like, you know, WORKING? yeah, people work, and they need a truck that can haul, tow, pull, whatever. the pussy jap trucks don't do that. and neither will your prius....
Mr_Oak @ Jan 5th 2007 8:27AM
1. Why does people need such a big pickup?
------------------------------------------------------
This is a work truck, It's built for real work. The do the kind of work that whimpy Honda whatchamacallits can't do. Farms, Ranches, Landscapers,Construction, Towing to name a few. You may not need one, and I certainly don't need one, but there are people who do. Are you really that stupid?
C. Williams @ Jan 5th 2007 8:45AM
Yea, this makes a lot of sence. Price reductions from a company that is loosing money so fast they can hear the woosh. Wouldn't it make more business sence to increase the price. Not to worry, soon Ford will be owned by a foreign auto manufacturer. They take a $41 billion dollar loan, and keep the same management team, brillant, just brillant.
antrow @ Jan 5th 2007 8:50AM
While I like the way the design and helpful features of the truck, I disagree that it is exclusively a working persons truck. Most working farmers, landscapers and ranchers hands will not be able to afford this truck until it is 10 or 15 years old.
I think that the majority of these trucks will loaded up with bling and be seen in suburban areas tasked towing camping trailers, boats and horse trailers.
Thnks being said, I would love to park a new King Ranch next to my Prius if only it would actually fit into my garage. That would make HomeDepot runs much more enjoyable.

Ford will never be owned by a foreign manufacturer. More likely, it will declare bankruptcy to get out of its union contracts, and then emerge leaner and better able to compete with the foreign brands.
I like the new front end of this truck - lowering the headlights is becoming a common trend to prevent blinding lower vehicles in front of the truck - Rangers seem to always to this when they are behind me.
I agree that some people need a truck like this. I don't but it looks cool. If the diesel can get 23 mpg or so on the highway, I may change my mind. So far, the diesels have cost Ford like $7 mil a day in warranty costs. I think the Cummins is more reliable, from what I've heard.
Guenther @ Jan 5th 2007 8:57AM
Sam- fact is- they don't. Someone convinced them that they do. It's much easier to compensate, when you're rolling around in 45k worth of barge with chrome steps, a bed-rug and tonneau cover.

My dad has owned trucks his whole life and made do with old F100's/F150's bling masters no longer wanted because they weren't in style anymore. Every one of his trucks was a WORK truck and more than paid for itself over it's lifetime. Never a 4X4, posi-traction at most, reliable as hell and beat to hell when he was done with them, (When the inspection guy would shake his head and say no mas)
There are a few guys that buy these trucks and Pose, but the overwhelming majority do some Heavy Duty Work. The F150 is more for the Posers, and that's a GOOD thing for my dad. Oh, and Ford still makes the best of the bunch.
The Truth @ Jan 5th 2007 9:21AM
Real Work? You mean work for uneducated and poor Americans.
This truck is lame.

11, This truck out butches hummers...
MaxP @ Jan 5th 2007 9:35AM
As a supervisor in highways & roads construction projects
I can tell I see a lot of these trucks being used to haul a sh*tload of stuff + the whole crew to get things done. Mostly cement or asphalt teams you know. And these guys seems to really enjoy these big trucks. I understand em totally.
As for myself, I don't need that much tho I'd really like to find a nice pickup or suv that is easy on gas and efficient in offroad due to remote locations I have to get to for job. Potential customer here Ford!
tracy @ Jan 5th 2007 9:35AM

C.William.... How many times in one post can you spell the word sense wrong? You make no senCe to me. I am sure Ford knows more about selling trucks than you do.
SkyMan @ Jan 5th 2007 9:36AM
Hey The Truth,
Where do I park my new F450 when I'm around your neighbourhood?
Oh, and please don't say up my ass, because THAT would be lame!
Happy Trucking!
Murphy @ Jan 5th 2007 9:48AM
Apparently "the truth" is a Doctor/lawyer that doesn't have anything better to do than sign on to autoblog and badmouth the backbone of America. The people that construct. Yeah you know those MORONS that built your house, the building you work in, roads you drove on to get there, the car you drove there, the school where you got your prestigious education, etc....... I guess I am one of those uneducated/poor Americans.
The only things we can take joy in on this earth is what we make with our hands and worshiping God.
pbrown @ Jan 5th 2007 9:49AM
Does anyone know if a navigation system will be available,I'd hate to get lost in that thing pulling a fifth wheel.
Murphy @ Jan 5th 2007 9:54AM
There is a navigation system option. I do my part building these trucks. I actually work at this assembly plant.
Hamud @ Jan 5th 2007 10:17AM
That truck is terrific. You can say anything bad of Ford, but when it comes to trucks, man, they are really good on it.
