Sorry for our tardiness, but with all the embargoes breaking through the night and into today, we couldn't manage to publish episode #52 of the Autoblog Podcast on time. But here it is, better late than never, and with it brings the chance to win an 8GB iPod Nano just for listening. The Autoblog Podcast Relaunch Sweepstakes #3 is now in effect, and to enter all you have to do is listen to the podcast. When you hear us announce this week's secret keyword, email the keyword back to us at abresearch at gmail dot com along with your name, age and address. It's pretty simple stuff for the mother of all iPod Nanos. Check out the official rules here, however, before you enter.
Of course, over the weekend the great embargo wars of 2006 began, with the first shot coming by way of an early release of Car and Driver's February issue, on the cover of which is the Lincoln MKR Concept that no one was supposed to know about until January 1st. So in episode #52, we devote our time to discussing the embargoes that were broken, as well as the cars that were revealed, including the aforementioned Lincoln MKR, the Jaguar C-XF, the Toyota FT-HS Concept, and the Mercedes-Benz Ocean Drive Concept. We conclude the podcast with our thoughts on the meeting that took place between Ford CEO Alan Mullaly and Toyota executives in Japan last week. Hope you enjoy the show and good luck!
