From what I heard, Corvette is the one obstacle that's holding the pro-more-power-for-Camaro forces back.
The thing is that even with more horses, you've got to believe that Camaro will likely give up weight and handling advantages to Corvette, which will unquestionably GM's real sports car as opposed to the muscle machine the Camaro's going to be.
Plus, if the Blue Devil/SS/Whatever Corvette happens as everyone believes it will, that'll elevate the Vette to an entirely different level anyway.
However you look at it, it seems GM's looking to maximize the level of kickassitude with the Camaro, which can only be seen as a good thing.
