Chinese biodiesel producer China Clean Energy has purchased land in the Fujian Province of China to build a new factory. The new facility will be about 15 miles from an existing plant in Fuqing and has a deep-sea harbor that can handle 300,000 ton cargo ships, a container port to handle all your consumer goods and a railroad. The company plans to break ground in the next six to nine months. An additional 50,000 tons of biodiesel per year will be coming out this new facility. The first phase of the construction is expected to be done by the first half of 2008, with the second by the end of that year. The second phase of the plan will add an extra 50,000 tons per year. China Clean Energy already has long-term agreements with suppliers in Indonesia and Malaysia for a supply of palm oil waste that will be used as a feedstock.
