Tucson wants to turn holiday grease into biodiesel
Tucson officials asked residents not to pour turkey drippings or other holiday grease down the drain. As everyone should know, grease solidifies when cooled; and if the sewer lines plug up, watch out for backup in the bathtub. Instead, Tucson is encouraging residents to collect the gunk and participate in the second annual Day After Thanksgiving Grease Recycling. Four centers have been set up around the town to receive the grease, which will be converted into biodiesel fuel by a local company.
