VIDEO: This just in - Bugatti Veyron is wicked fast
Remember the video we showed you a couple of months ago of a Bugatti Veyron charging away from a Nissan 350Z. We said it was like a bike in the way it accelerated. Well, here's another video that tries to capture what that level of acceleration looks like. From a standing start we watch the Bug take off and disappear down the track. Watching the clip, you'd swear it must be sped up. Unless you've seen one in person. Watch for yourself what 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, 0-200 in 7.2sec and 0-300 in 16.7 seconds must feel like.

.....And in other news, researchers at MIT have found that the sky is blue.
This astonishing discovery is followed by another one in which Historians at Oxford as well as Harvard claim is the biggest thing to hit world history since the wheel.
They have found that mysterious names like Jesus Christ, Adolf Hitler, Albert Einstein, Pablo Picasso, Henry Ford, among others, may have played some part in shaping the history of the world. There are even rumors that the name Jesus Christ is so influential that there are actually people who worship him on a daily basis. However, due to the severe lack of documents pertaining to these intruiging figures, more dedicated research is needed.

If veyron is 1 million and they will only build 50 of them (actually increased to 75 now) and they are owned by billioners, how do they end up on tracks?
if i bought one, i would have it in my living room. or i would drive it but not take it to a track and race the crap out of it all the time. what if it gets vandalized? what if a yahoo does something to it. i dont get this

katie, believe it or not, some billionaires actually drive their supercars like they are supposed to. i know that's hard to believe but it's true.
Also, Bugatti probably keeps a few cars just for show and testing purposes for the media.
oh yeah, and btw if you were given or bought a Veyron why in the world would you keep it in your living room? That would be a huge waste! If you can afford a Veyron then I'm sure you can afford to fix a little scratch or ding.
Cars like these are meant to be driven, not sit in a show room and left to die (case in point: Ralph Lauren).
Enthusiasts rejoice at the sight of a supercar being used for what its meant to be.
And besides, if you just let it sit there then you might as well save the 1.7 million dollars and buy a poster, heck, buy a replica instead so you can save some money.

Thanks Nist I understand.
I make 55,000 a year and in 2004 bought myself a S2000 for 33,000. So if people make 50,000,000 a year as a ceo or more could certainly drive a veyron and do what ever they want.
your right

Oh, c'mon, you all know it's absolutely awesome! :)
I just love it when four/all-wheel-drive cars can squeal all four tires. Of course, in this case, it was no surprise.

Very impressive, but I'll take a Kawi ZX-14 for "bike like acceleration" (0-238kmh in 9.7 seconds) since I have a chance of actually buying one. Even my little ZZR600 does 0-200kmh in 10.9, not quite Veyron level but adequate. A liter bike and 165 pound rider can come to 3.79 pounds per wheel HP, which not even the Veyron can match. Of course, because of the wheelie limit as well as lack of traction while leaned over, it takes more skill and planning to harness this power, and because of disastrous aerodynamics, top speed on a bike isn't what it is for a powerful car.
I'm not a car hater, I love cars and I love the Veyron for what it is and I'm currently selling my bike to buy a sports car, but the "bike like" comment struck me as a little odd since for less than 1% of the price of the Veyron any decent rider can experience similar straightline performance. That's all.
