JAC Vision 2: The sequel hits Beijing Motor Show

China's Jianghuai Automobile Co., Ltd., unveiled its Vision II concept car at the Beijing Auto Show. Again. As its name suggests, this is the second iteration of the swoopy sedan. It was first shown at the 2005 Beijing Auto Show as the Vision in a more conservative dark red paintjob, sporting a Nissan-esque grille. Photos after the jump.
The Vision II makes its 2006 return with a much more vivacious color and more original grille design. Also notice how the car's logo has been re-designed to attract attention from fewer attorneys.
More photos of Vision I and II after the jump.

I was wondering when you guys would show these cars, there's one more, another red car that I saw on another blog, it was tight. These cars are great, America could take some tips from those interiors.

"3. Thats a ripped off G35 coupe."
Oh please, what is even remotely similar between the two cars?

Great proportions, and I quite enjoy the interior! Just the front graphics are a bit lame, grill and headlights...

Finally, a Chinese car that is neither a knock-off nor highly offensive to the senses (well, except for the cheap paint, but that's no biggy). It'll be interesting to see how all the Chinese automakers pan out. I think we're seeing a parallel to the 20s-40s in the American auto scene, and a couple/few will become highly successful while many (like the accordion-trunked monstrosity's maker) will be also-rans, joining the ranks of Maxwells, Pupmobile, and Nash (all of which were better looking than most of the contenders in Beijing this week, by the way).

The designer is imported right??? Hehehhehe.
The cars looks really good, actualy I'm surprised with it. The interior looks terrific, but I don't see too much functionality on it, almost everything is hard to reach or hard to see.

Did anyone notice that this car is a rip off of the Pontiac G6?
Look at the belt-line and windows how they flow and are angled just like the G6. Even the Tail-lights look like the G6 and Cobalt's.
Overall I like the front end and of the car. Are those Project Mu brakes? nice choice.

I don't see any ripoff's here. For an original design, this is a pretty amazing effort by a Chinese manufacturer. The car is nothing short of gorgeous.
I agree that the interior needs work though. It's not very ergonomic and it looks very cramped inside.

I swear EVERY CAR is a ripoff to you people! I think this car is very nice looking and for once a car out of china that is clearly NOT a blatant ripoff of another car!

Just a few points:
is there anyone on this planet who would really be interested in a car painted the same (or nearly the same) shade of green, as a John Deere tractor?
No one has brought up the point about the close proximity of the gearshift on this car to the three circular "projections"....HVAC controls?
I find the chrome panel between the tail lights on the red car to be interesting, since in the U.S. we see a lot of chrome....at least on the front of many new cars, but rarely on the rear. I'm not crazy about the "potmetal" (or is it supposed to be aluminum?) used so liberally on the green car...inside and out.
And lastly, why is the badge in the middle of the grille on the red car, different looking from that on the green car? The red car has what looks like a Lexus "L", while the green car sports a "STAR".

I'll actually give this one to them... it's not really a blatant rip off, just a combination of different styles, which is what all auto manufacturers do.
Haha and #8, I hope you are kidding, because the G6 is a "rip-off" of the tC, as is the Saturn Ion.

I, too, thought "Pontiac G6" when I saw the taillights and slanting beltline, but all carmakers rip off each others' successful styling cues. That's called fashion.

It's nice, but American concept interiors are far nicer than Chinese ones--regardless of what curtis says. Production interiors are a different matter.

You guys are blind.
This is a direct rip of the Chevy Cobalt coupe.
Chinese companies always copy designs, and bad designs do they copy.
The head lights and tail lights are identical to the Cobalt.

OK -- THEY ARE GETTING CLOSER! Take away the unfortunate green paint that makes the car look like a ceramic dragon, do something with the mechanicals that allows less voloptuousness in the hood, raise the roof 5 cm, and you have a car.
BTW, this car, minus the whale hood look, is better looking than the G6, which has almost a "broken back" look on the street, which indicates the wheelbase might have been increased during design (or just indicates a lack of grace)

Not even close. It takes much more than headlights and taillights to constitute a "copy."

The Vision II concept has a badge that looks like a reversed Lexus badge. (The stylized "L" facing the other way).
