Speeder's Nightmare: Brabus CLS Rocket police car

Last year, the German Federal Traffic Ministry and the Association of German Automobile Tuners (VDAT) created the Tune It Safe! program, the goal of which is to encourage drivers to adopt safe and legal tuning practices (and presumably have them employ established German tuning firms to do so). To highlight the program, TechArt created a Porsche 911 Carrera S police car for the Essen Motor Show, where it would be displayed as the world's fastest police car.
With the Essen show coming up again next month, Tune It Safe! had to follow up the TechArt Porsche with something equally impressive, and turned to another well-known supertuner from Deutschland -- Brabus -- for the assist. The result, as you'd expect, is far from disappointing.
Sporting full police livery in the Tune It Safe! booth this year will be one of Brabus' jaw-droppingly powerful CLS V12 S Rocket sedans. With 730 twin-turbocharged horses stampeding under its hood, the Rocket lives up to its moniker with a 225.19 mph top speed.
God forbid you should ever see one of these things materialize in your rearview with its gumballs flashing, because outrunning it is not on your list of options.

Now it will make the (accidental!) banging of the perps head into the door frame much easier.

So as long as you're in anything that's not a sport-type care, there's a very easy method of escape: DRIVE OFF OF THE ROAD. Dirt road, field, doesn't matter. Either that officer will say "hey, this car costs WAYYYYY too much to take off of pavement" or he'll actually try to drive it off and then realize it's so low to the ground that driving on bumpy terrain is impossible. He'll then be fired for making the car not pretty anymore. :)

I'll take the plain-clothes version in black, please.

#1 Because it's much cooler to be getting a ticket from a cop driving one of these VS say a Golf.
"Shit I got pulled over by a Golf."
"Got pulled over by this awsome car, after being chased at top speed for 50 miles, got arrested, now I get 3 squares a day, have recreation, a TV, library, my own room and a boyfriend named Bubba."
Makes a better story than the Golf story.

Don't you think they could have made the police lights a little more sleek... Like the low profile leds or something. That light bar looks like it was made in the 80's.

Its not a pratol car, numbnuts: Its a publicity car for the campaign. Participation in programs like Tune It Safe is strongly encouraged among german tuner firms, similar to Phillip Morris funding anti smoking propaganda.
Even with 730hp, 225mph sounds like a streach with that light bar up there though.
Fuel and tire costs on a car like this make it prohibitive for traffic enforcement. They tend to use rwd midsize sedans from the local manufacturer, usually with a big V6 as high speed interceptors. So 335i, A4 V6fsi, C350, Mondeo V6, or Omega V6.

agree with #6. Heck even the "Ghost" Camaros here in SoCal have the 2 inch light bars on top.

I wish the police had Lambis, Benzes, and Porsches. I wouldn't mind being pulled over then. And they'd probably do a better job in chases in LA.

Hey Sam I know the R1 is fast but you have to turn some time. That is when you donate organs. I'm a rider (97 Blackbird) and I know you can't out run Motorola. As for the light bar a sleek looking bar would compliment the car better. If cops in the states start getting these cars I don't want to be in the town that pays that tax bill.

This and the Lambo cop car would be the ultimate way to get pulled over.

It doesn't really matter if the police have a fast car or not. If you even have a fast car and try to outrun the police is does not matter. As long as they have your plate #, they will probably get you.
