Chery at the Beijing Motor Show

Chery Automobile is one of a handful of Chinese automakers that has made its intention to sell cars across the world known and is actively pursuing that end. One such example of that pursuit is the improvement we're seeing in some of Chery's designs. Four concepts that will be appearing at the upcoming Beijing Motor Show exhibit the new shape of Chery, which for the most part would pass muster if sold in countries other than China. Could they succeed in the U.S. based on looks alone? Well... we'll let you decide. Check out all four vehicles Chery will be displaying in Beijing after the jump.

I got Chery QQ TE 0.8, its beautiful car but quality is so bad, its like new year 2008 but always trouble. Parts are so expensive and quality is so bad, fix one thing other will be ready. For me this chery in piece of junk.

not a bad attempt.
on another note, they will be changing that A3 moniker, right?

looks like something fell on the 7202's clay model before production began...Someone in quality must have missed that.
nice to see that even if they lifted an Audi name, they lifted a ford design for the A3 - equal opportunity theft

I never though I'd say this about any vehicle, but the Chery "Running 5" Concept would looked better if it had the metallic/unpainted skirting. The Chery Fengyun Coupe II has got some amazing curvature, I like it. I could easily see a convertible iteration of that. I don't like the Makes logo, that would get confused with the Infiniti logo I'm sure. I think they should use a stylized Chinese Character, That would look better than anything on the streets here in the States.

yeap - they took a Ford an Audi and slaped an Infiniti sign on them, and their name is pretty much Chevy
wow! they have no imagination in China at all to come up with some of their own crap. I'll never own one even if they passed them out for free

I think that Concept 5 is what the Rav4 should've been.

The rust/orange one looks like it may be a retro Crosley from the late 40s early 50s. Nice.

Most of those designs look very impractical and would be expensive to produce. And "looks" is not what sells cars. "Quality" does.

they have to work on the style. but i would guess the quality will be better than anything built and designed by americns. but then that would not be difficult as american products are the world leader in poor quality.

Me neither. My garage is already filled to the limit with a Bugatti Veyron, an Enzo Ferrari, a Lamborghini Murciélago, and a McLaren F1. I couldn't possibly fit in another car.

Woah ho ho...they were doing alright until that last one. It looks like it has a face-deforming birth-defect.

Imitation is the finest form of flattery. There are too many idiots in this world who don't understand that.

It looks like Chery will not bring in the new car for used car price like I had hoped. If they could bring in a car bigger and cheaper than an Aveo, with a Hyundai like warranty, they will sell like hot cakes.

Sorry, can't go there. I'm afraid if I bought one I would feel like buying another one an hour later.

The A3 looks semi-appealing to me. I like the (assumed to be) suicide doors for the rear, as the give the car a much cleaner look since the rears won't be used as often as the fronts. Yes, it looks like a combination of vehicles from Lexus, Daewoo, and a little Nissan, but every car looks like another car in one way or another.
I'm curious about the price they plan to sell these at, and what the interiors are going to be like.

Just remember to look for that all important gold "Made In China" sticker somewhere on the car. Why not stick it on the outside, than everyone will look at you like they do at those made in china tools and toys: underclass. The good part is that you'll be able to buy 2 for the price you would 1 domestic or ToyoHonda. So whent he first one goes to pieces, you have your trusty backup.

I like the "Running Capitalist Dog" - that's a great name for a car. What's next, "The East is Red"?
