Wll the next roadster from BMW be a Z6?
The original Z3 roadster enjoyed respectable sales numbers. Then along came the Bangle-ized Z4. Sales of the Z4 aren't bad, but haven't set the world on fire either. So is it time for a replacement?
With rumors and speculation swirling, the folks at Hidden Image took the info they had and created a couple of images of just what a Z6 roadster might look like. How about a Z6 with a 500 BHP V10 and a proper 6-speed manual transmission? Hold on to your toupee!

Make the kidneys twice that height and i'd say its a wien.. I mean winner. But until it comes from the horses mouth (BMW) I'll class this as a pretty picture.

BMW doesn't need to build a Saturn Sky.
Start over, Mr. Bangle.

That makes no sense.
I tend to agree with Road and Track, the car will be a little smaller or the same size as than the current Z4, and it will be called Z2, and offer a I4 Turbo engine as one of the choices.
If you want something bigger, get the 3-series vert or 6-series vert.

Z2 and a 2 series coupe and sedan is what BMW needs. The 3 series has priced itself out of the entry level luxury car category. Entry level luuxry now is everyone except BMW, even MB's C class starts below 30k.

I4-Turbo only if they drop some of the weight out of the car. If you have ever driven the Z4 with the I6 it is an almost perfect match to the car. I think the better option would be to offer a turbo or supercharged I6.

+How about a 500BHP V10 and proper 6-speed MT
I say BS.
If BMW wants to sell to the masses and build this Z6 in the U.S.and keep the SC plant producing quality affordable cars then they are not going to price this beauty with the herd that is out of range for the the most guys with $$ ready to spend.
If they want it to be one for the elite crowd of "I'll pay what ever price you want me to pay" and sell 1k units or less, then build it that way.
There is too much competition now and more coming down the pike for BMW to try to horn in with $$$$$$$$ priced Z?? with a 500BHP engine. Where the hell will you drive it to its full capability???
