VIDEO: More Ford Australia Fun
More TV commercial fun from Ford Australia, this time in the form of a spot for the FPV BA GT, a performance Falcon that was produced from 2003 - 2005. Sure the music's a mite hokey, but the old school early-70s Falcon GT it features is anything but. About midway through, it transforms into the modern BA GT, sounding evil and looking sharp. After the jump, we've got a humourous spot for the Falcon RTV Ute. "Flooded it, mate?" Heh.

HAhahahahahahaaahaahahhaahahahaha, the second is very funny. The first one is great too.
Man, i don't know how can you understand what they say, looks like people from Portugal speaking local Portuguese, we can barely understand, heheeheh.

I saw one of those FPVs when I was in Dearborn a few months ago. Those things are sweet! They are even better looking in person. It looked like somebody's personal vehicle, but I couldn't tell for sure because I couldn't catch it.
I'm still holding out hope that maybe Ford has some plan to bring it to the US, since I saw it driving around near the Ford development facilities there. I guess I might as well dream about it...

We get the big old F-150 and the Aussies get the Falcon RTV? We don't even get a new SVT Lightning!

I'm agree with you #1 Hamud, the 2nd ad is very funny, and since you're currently in Brazil, I spotted this Brazilian ad of the Ford Galaxie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqTbCh3_bSw the Brazilian Ford Galaxie who used the 1965-66 body was made there from 1967 to 1982 (although others sources mentionned 1983), here some pics on this Brazilian site http://www.galaxie.com.br/galaxie_club/historia_bra.htm

And Ford still wonders why they have a hard time selling most of their US shit. Everywhere else in the world, they sell real cars. How small and viciously competitive is the Australian market, but they still seem to manage a profit and maintain sales. Really, what the hell is going on???

If you go to Australia you'll notice a lack of large trucks like we have in North America. That's because they built their cars to do most everything we build big trucks to do here.
Those cars have nicer interiors, are easier and more comfortable to operate and drive light years better than our fullsized trucks too.
Don't get me wrong, our 3/4 and 1-tons have their place. But the Utes that Ford and Holden produce will do almost all the tasks people buy 1/2-tons here for. And they make better daily drivers to boot.

I have been brought up loving these cars in Australia the with our Ford Vs. Holden battle happening everyday and the toruing V8 Supercars.
I am persoanlly a Ford man with a Ford with me every part of my life so far. These are great cars to drive.

The second commercial is a hoot. And notice no "professional drivers on closed course. Do not attempt" baloney like in the U.S. Must be nice to be free of scumba...er...LAWYERS!

My comment is to FORD. please wakeup Ford and smell the coffee, we need car from the Ford Performance Vehicle line to show the other manufactures how's the real Boss in the block and if you understand what I mean then take a good look at link. (http://www.fpv.com.au/index.aspx)

I'm an Australian (from South Australia), and very used to Ford and Holden V8s, including V8 utes. We make the Holdens here (Adelaide), and the Fords are made in Victoria (only 1000km down the road). They're very fast in a straight line, especially the utes. The sedans are comfortable, handle pretty well (esp. the VE Holden Commodore), and although they may not be as sophisticated as the Euro-mobiles, you get a lot of car for the money (around 1/3 of the money of a EuroMobile in Australia; try pricing a V8 Audi vs a V8 Holden or Ford).
On recent visits to the USA (2005), I was surprised at the large number of pickup trucks in Arizona/Nevada/California, and how bloody fat and bland many of them are. I think that FPV and HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) could do pretty well if exported to the USA. V8s, nice styling, fairly cheap, rear-wheel drive, less phat but better performance than an 'SUV'.
So come on, yanks! Make some noise! There's only 20 million of us Aussies, so we don't get heard on the international scene. If a decent amount of Americans want FPV and HSV vehicles, then we'll start to export.
At least the Holden VE Commodore is being exported as the Pontiac V8. So come-on, Ford men! Make some noise at your Ford dealership.
