Too expensive, yes, probably. They're not slow - especially on the streets of London, they're more than adequate [heck knows the cabbies drive them at a rate of knots].
Stephen Fry [a British celebrity] drives one as his daily car - on the basis that they go zillions of miles needing very little maintenance, and that tiny turning circle makes them very useful in city streets. As does Bez from the Happy Mondays, but enough said about him the better...
