How to sell 50 BMWs in 92 seconds
The BMW M6 convertible may be capable of 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds, but luxury retailer Neiman Marcus found out Wednesday that the German drop-top is nearly as quick off the showroom floor, as it sold its entire stock of 50 limited edition M6 convertibles in a record-breaking 92 seconds. The Neiman Marcus edition M6, the star of NM's 2006 Christmas Book, features a custom Ruby Black exterior finish accented with Piano Black trim elements, and power sports seats wrapped in a custom Gold Brown shade of supple BMW Individual Merino leather.
At $139,000 each, the ever-so-special BMWs rang the register at a rate of $75,543 per second, if only for a minute and a half.

Old people are crazy...
If you want an up-trimmed M6, and you have the money to but a $139k car...why not buy a 'normal' M6 and just modify it the way you want to (which in this case looks like adding a bunch of trim pieces and upgrading the leather....)

The 139k cost also comes with a trip to Germany to visit with some of the designers (not sure if it's the people who actually designed the 6 series, the M division, or the people who chose the individual color combinations).
There's about 50 Neiman Marcus stores around the country, so that's about one per store... which isn't saying much considering the average income of most regular shoppers there.

139K is just too much money for this car.

"The General's full-size SUVs move off the lot at a rate of approximately 650,000 per year, meaning that a new Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, or Escalade finds its way into a garage approximately every 48 seconds."

Your logic is way off.

Ekow, because they're so rich it's not even vaguely worth their time to take the car into a shop to get that done. If they wanted more power they'd probably just go buy a Veyron. lol

Great, BMW has branded a car to sell rarely and quickly. Is it just me or is there, dare I say, a designo atmosphere about this vehicle? And to an automotive enthusiast, you know what I mean when refering to designo. I am confident it is high-time for BMW to develop their own rare enhancement available to only a certain few who desire it and not use a high-end appearel reatailer to do it. I mean no disrespect for Neiman Marcus. I am patiently waiting for BMW to ascend with their own rare internal branding designs and sell for much longer just a few seconds. BMW has no apologies to issue for any high-performance vehicle they produce. Especially, recognizing that BMW has produced such vehicles in the past with no artifical aspiration, only incredible gut and no second-hand assistance.

In continuing my recent comment, I want to make extremely clear that I do not mean BMW is issuing an apology to consumers by utilizing the profound greatness of Neiman Marcus. I am simply stating that BMW would have no problem selling internal branding designs on their own platform.
