Chevy shows Prisma Y Concept at San Paulo show

The Sao Paulo auto show in Brazil continues to kick out some interesting concepts below 0° lattitude. Following the Fiat FCC Adventure Concept we showed you prior, Chevy unveiled the Prisma Y Concept yesterday. The vehicle looks decidedly more production ready than the Fiat, and a little bit like a bigger Suzuki SX4. Our Jalopified friends also noticed the similarities the Prisma Y shares with the WTCC Ultra Concept that Chevy unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, mainly the bold new grille treatment up front and the electric blue paint job. We particularly like the fog lights up front that are molded into the front fascia and bumper. It's not a bad looking little CUV, if you ask us. You can check out more images of the Prisma Y Concept by clicking on the Read link.

What are the chances of this a.) seeing a U.S. release for MY 08 or 09, and b.) getting close to 30mpg hwy? This would be pretty interesting if could be had for under $20k (below RAV4/CRV) and got decent mileage. Sort of a step between the Vibe (or HHR) and the Equinox/Torrent.

Too little too late for Chevy and GM. Great concepts, poor execution. GM blew their last chance by not joining the Nissan-Renault Alliance.

Simply replacing a body-wide strip of chrome with body color over the grill does not make modern design. We've seen all of the Prisma cues on other vehicles. Once again, if you want innovative design, GM is the last place you'll find it. If you want plagarism and design theft, Robert Lutz is stuffing designs down his pants like Sandy Burglar.

If you want innovative design, Toyota is the place to look. Toyota leads the industry and everybody else follows.

OK. I am not an owner, by my father-in-law just purchased a blue, base model SX$(only addition was automatic)on Saturday(he drives 120-130 miles Per Day).
He has nearly 500 miles sicne Saturday on the thing.
He only had one other foreign vehicle, an 87 Toyota truck, in his 44 years of driving.
He had a Jeep grand Cherokee Lardeo, but after it turned out to be junk after 100,000 miles, and only getting 22 hwy, On a good day, he go the Suzuki. he ranges between 28-30MPG. 0-60 around 10 seconds.
Got 2.9% for 4 years to pay on it.
And.... there were NO (Suzuki-rebadegd for )Chevy Trakcers around, new(anymore).
This is just the same vehicles(it mentioned Fioat in the article, and fiat/Suzuki jointly built this thing, with Suzuki doint the main engineering and using their parts, i have read).
This car is great! beats even Hyundai/Kia on pricing, and better MPG.

Toyota? Innovative design?? Now I know you're just trolling. You'll have to do better than that.

GM blew their last chance by not joining the Nissan-Renault Alliance????????? I respectfully disagree.
Nissan does not have much going on in the style department and they are gambling on new product. The Versa and Sentra sure won't get the job done. The new G35 maybe but it will never sell huge numbers. They do have the best V6 in the world. I have owned 9 Nissan products and currently own an '04 I35 (glorified Maxima) but I see more style coming from GM than Nissan.
