Spy Shots: BMW 3-Series convertible
Some of the clearest images of the 3-series cabrio were released late yesterday and by all outward appearances, there doesn't seem to be much left to hide, save the taillights and windows.It's safe to assume that the same engines available on current coupes will find their way into the folding hard top version, including the new 3-liter turbo. However, rumors have begun to circulate that when the M3 debuts, a convertible will not be an option.
Sources are suggesting that BMW's entry-level drop top will be available in Europe this coming March, with American sun worshipers getting their chance at open air motoring a few months afterwards.

looks to much like the coupe,
If I wanted a convertible, I want it to be distinguishable from from it's coupe sibling
this one almost has no distinction in design

It's too bad they mucked up the rear end. There's nothing elegant about the shape of the back window and the way it hits the trunk. Too many European econobox hardtop cabrios (that aren't available in the US) have that similar notchback, big butt shape. Oh well. At least the 335 coupe is still an option.

Admitting I'm not a fan of current BMW styling, this one looks like two cars put together. The top looks like a shell sitting on the body of the car. No integration in styling between the two areas of the car. Disappointment.

the coupes design was so perfect and the first time i saw it in person i could not see a design element "i" didn't like, but i can't say the same for the convertible. the rear quarter design looks clumsy and not cohesive.

This is a pre-production model. I would hope they fix the gaps a little bit, but man oh man, a hardtop 335? Now that is an awesome concept!

You know, it looks cleaner than lots of current styling trends... I for one wouldn't mind it looking like that. Strangely, though, I get a strong recollection of the 6th Generation Accord coupe. Something about the rear 1/3 of the car.
