We've mentioned this before, but for all you procrastinators out there, we thought we'd put up a reminder: one of the tax credits available for people buying the Toyota hybrid vehicles is expiring on October 1. When congress enacted the particular tax credit, they set a limit of 60,000 vehicles per manufacturer to be eligible. Toyota will meet that production threshold this year at the beginning of October. The federal tax credit for Toyota hybrid vehicles will drop from $3150 from $1575 at that time. The cars will still be eligible for any applicable state tax breaks after that time. If you're looking for a Prius or other Toyota built hybrid you might want to go and try to make your deal this week.
