Ford's new Clean Diesel Technology, which the company says will be "the cleanest, quietest diesel ever offered by Ford in a pickup" is going to make its debut in the 2008 Super Duty F-Series. Ford announced this week that the Ford scientists who developed the technology are among the recipients of the coveted Henry Ford Technology Award for 2006. Each year, Ford gives out the awards to celebrate "exceptional technical contributions by employees".

The Clean Diesel Technology is made up of a system of advanced technologies, including an advanced diesel particulate filter, that result in an engine with particulate emissions similar to a gasoline engine. The upcoming 2008 Super Duty F-Series pickup will feature the technology in its 6.4-liter V-8 diesel engine.
