Spy Shots: 2009 Porsche Panamera

Testing of the Porsche Panamera at -- where else? -- the Nurburgring has begun in earnest, and clearly audible over the big Porsche's exhaust note is the frenzied clicking of photographers' shutters.

With the car's debut at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show still over two years away, it's difficult to know what, if anything, to make of the test car's shape, although the overall proportions of the car are probably close to reality.

To make the four seats and a luggage compartment practical, the Panamera's engine moves to the front. According to The Car Connection, raising the Panamera's hood will reveal engines ranging from the Volkswagen 3.5-liter six (300 hp) all the way to a twin-turbo direct-injection Porsche V8 (560 hp).
