Mercedes-Benz Accesssories GMBH has taken a great thing -- the Mercedes-Benz CL-Class -- and enhanced it with a full line of high-end accessories inspired by the vehicle.

First up is MB's leather trinkets, available in the classic black nappa found in the cabin of the CL. Leather products consist of both a wallet and business card cases. The two offerings incorporate beige stitching into the black leather, mimicking the look of the trim in the CL's cockpit and providing a classy alternative to your run-of-the-mill personal accessories.

Next up is the ash timber pens and umbrella handle, reminiscent of the wood trim found in the cockpit of the Benz. And where would you be without your exclusive driving gloves and instrumentation-inspired wristwatch? Rounding out the offerings are a keyring and money clip, both with the MB logo etched into them.

Also available is a die cast model of the CL, whose design, according to DaimlerChrysler, is so perfect that it even got the approval of the Design Center in Sindelfingen.

While products inspired by vehicles are nothing new, we're excited by the high-end parters that are involved in the gig. The accessories are available starting this month at Mercedes-Benz dealerships. Happy shopping!

"High-end partners" simply refers to Mercedes-Benz Accessories GMBH, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary that unjustifiably adds so much of a mark-up (for what, product development?) as to price this type of merchandise beyond the point of reasonable market attainability. There is a reason Mercedes-Benz dealers struggle sell this stuff, just as there is a reason there is so much counterfeit Mercedes-Benz lifestyle accessories coming out of China.

I find that these Mecedes Benz Accessories are a hugh waste of money and do nothing for the prestege of owning a Benz. Just what I need an ash timber pen or Merceds emblem on my umbella...give me a break! Maybe if the money clip came with a million dollar bill in it, now that would really add to my prestege, but am empty money clip with just an MB logo, I don't think so.

What, pray tell, are "high-end parters"? What constitutes an exciting parter?

1 - How do you figure that this Ben"Z" is a Chrysler? Show me which pieces of a CL are designed or produced by the Chrysler side of the company.

Thought of any yet??? Didn't think so. Don't comment on things you don't understand.

      6 -

      Are you serious???

First, you still haven't managed to explain exactly which parts are in the CL that make it a glorified Chrysler.

Second, the Crossfire is based on the previous generation SLK, not the other way around. Get your facts straight.

Third, how you manage to believe that MB will every be perceived at the same level as Chevy is incomprehensible. That statement is nearly as stupid as saying the cars smell the same. I seriously doubt this, but even if it is true; what significance does that have?

People like you who aren't aware of their ignorance need to be quiet and keep to themselves. You don't even realize how irrational your writing and reasoning are.

I sat in one today at the mechanic. It was the new 500. The inside even smells like a chrysler. the New Gen World powerplant is the same as what is going in the new SRT's. Look at the crossfire. That little thing is just like that Kompressor two seater convertible. You sould like one of those guys that takes a lot of pride in his Mercedes and thinks it is the best. Well in a few years the Mercedes will have the same rep as a Chevy.

I still love their platinum key chain that costs more than a mid-sized car.

Better not to talk about it if you don't have a reliable source on the Benz Chrysler thing. Beside it would not matter if its true or not and its really unrealiable if your going to base your facts with the car's smell. If you are not an MB afficionado you will not really appreciate this Mercedes Benz accessories. But for who are MB enthusiast they are willing to pay for it just for a personal satisfaction of it.

The truth is that the old Bling that used to be the Bens is now a Chrysler. Nothing wrong with that I guess.
