Lotus gets a new spindoctor
Lotus announced today that it has hired a new ad agency to help it along with a renewed push into the North American market. Burbank-based e2amp, inc. will be responsible for rejuvenating the British sportscar company's image in the US and Canada through advertising, product placement and promotional events.
e2amp doesn't appear to have much experience with carmakers - its client roster includes such entertainment companies as JVC, Sony, Buena Vista and Universal. And what could be more entertaining than the tight handling and eminent chuckability of the Lotus Elise and Exige?
Arguably the most interesting part of e2amp's mandate from Lotus is the product placement. After James Bond's return to Aston Martins, could we see a Lotus comeback in the next 007 film?

Very true, Brocktoon. I'm originally Canadian and am all too familiar with that nuance. However many foreign manufacturers treat the two markets as one and the same, which it appears Lotus has done in this case.

Toyota and GM know this well, Ford will KILL their Canadian dealers without a minivan. Most other makers would be better off lumping Canada with Mexico in terms of product mix. Oh well, lotus will figure it out on their own....

Let's just wait how their advertisement can actually penetrate their target market. For now, let's sit back and watch.

Lotus could have made the advertising twice as successful if it had designed the car for a wider range of body types to begin with. They could literally sell 5 times as many cars if people over 5 foot 5 could fit.

I'm 6 foot 1" and fit fine with plenty of room to spare. Steve, you've obviously never sat in a Lotus and slid the seat back. There are owners of this car who are 6'4" on the Elise talk forums.
