VIDEO: Crow uses oncoming traffic to prepare food

In a world becoming increasingly urban and overrun with automobiles, any animal that hopes to survive must adapt. So what's a crow to do with no way to crack his nuts? The crow in this video has overcome the obstacle by placing his food in the path of oncoming traffic and waiting for a car's curb weight to do the work for him. Of course, eating dinner in the middle of the road is a hazard in itself, so this crow has gotten especially creative. It hangs out on a wire perched directly above a cross walk and drops a nut in the street. After it's been run over, it waits for the light to turn red and the traffic to stop before swooping down to dine in peace. Amazing. Not only does this illustrate how intelligent some animals are, it also gives us another entry for our upcoming coffee table book entitled 101 Uses for the Modern Day Automobile.
