Rusty Wallace touts Dodge safety after crash
Former NASCAR champ Rusty Wallace had only good things to say about his 2006 Dodge Durango when he and his family emerged unscathed from the vehicle after it was T-boned on the driver's side by an absent minded driver talking on her cell phone. The former driver of the No. 2 Dodge was quoted after the accident saying, "You hear car companies talk about safety a lot, but I can tell you that (wife) Patti and I are both really thankful for the research and development that Dodge puts into the safety of their vehicles." From reports found in various articles, the accident sounds like it was pretty severe, but all parties involved are thankfully OK. And no, Wallace isn't on DaimlerChrysler's payroll (as far as we know), but maybe he should be.

Good for Dodge, DCX, and survivors.
Bad for stupid woman talking on her cell phone.
SHUT UP AND DRIVE!

What the hell is wrong with fox sports. They post a story like this, but no picture of the vehicle after the accident? For all we know it could have a slight ding in the door.

did you notice how there was no mention of what the other car was? for all we know it could have been an aveo or something. not to say that it makes it any less serious, but an aveo at 50 mph has a lot less energy than an escalade.
just like fox news to leave out the important details.
fair and balanced, yeah right.

A good example of why we can't count on drivers to be safe on the road. We need ultra reinforced steel tanks surrounded by crumple zones, airbags and active protection all the way.
It does not matter if you are a good driver. Someone else will find a way to TBone you and you won't get a chance to get out of the way.

Good for this guy. I was in a '99 Dodge Stratus when some clown decided to ignore a red light. He was probably doing 45-55 mph, hit me right on the b-pillar. Thank goodness that I don't remember it, being slammed by a Blazer at that speed... It broke my pelvis, bruised my kidney, broke many ribs (which subsequently punctured and collapsed my lung), messed up my shoulder, and caused an intercranial bleed. He got to walk away from that one, they had to cut the roof off of my car to get me out. Very unfair, I looked both ways twice (didn't see him past stopped cars) and he thought he could anticipate the light turning green (other people were stopped in the right-side lane).

3. Just another troll. Hey Matt it was Fox sports not Fox News. But you couldn't care less about the story because you wanted to use this as an excuse to slam Fox.
Not that Fox cares, they are the number 1 cable news network and on some nights they've outdrawn one of the "big 3" (CBS, NBC, ABC). Take your political crap to another bog, this ones about automobiles. Sorry for the interuption - ok now back to the real story.

Ryan, there are empty booths in some places where people can go to use their cell phones.
So, the booth still lives but the phone therein is now gone.

Fox, CNN, NBC, ABC, etc. News are for people that would rather watch news than MAKE news.
Get out of your houses and have FUN!!!!

I guess my point is if more severe CRIMINAL CHARGES were given in this type of accident, it would help people be more attentive to what they're doing.
