The Detroit News obtained another shot of the upcoming Volkswagen mid-sized crossover, the Tiguan. Based on the Concept A, the vehicle's unique name is based on the words "tiger" and "leguan", the latter German for iguana. The Tiguan concept will debut at the second Los Angeles autoshow later this year with the production version to be displayed next year at the 2007 Frankfurt show.

I had 3 of these virtually undisguised drive past at about 3 minute intervals on the Crown Range Road in NZ's South Island early on Wednesday morning last week when I was driving between Wanaka and Queenstown. Unfortunately I wasn't organised enought to grab photos and I was too absorbed in what has to be one of the great driving roads - make sure you get there in the summer when there's no ice on it though!
