So we've been cruising up and down Woodward Ave. for over an hour now and what we've witnessed is a plethora of soggy Dream Cruisers. The picture above says it all, as we know that most Cruisers would never dream of driving in the rain on any other day... except today. The 2006 Woodward Dream Cruise officially kicked off at 9 AM today and it's been raining almost non-stop ever since. While the showers do turn off and on unexpectedly, it's been a damp day so far to say the least. As you can see from our gallery after the jump, we did manage to snap a few pics of the action and we plan to hang around until the sun comes out... if the sun comes. If not, we're going to see Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and then reevaluate our situation.

Got back to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada,Sunday after driving down to Woodward ave on Friday and may I say that cruising woodward ave is much more fun than sitting watching the cars go by.Even with the rain on Saturday, it was a blast.Every car lover should make the trip once in their lives to really see what acruise should be like.

Last night we saw a right hand drive holden SS, a Carrera GT, Testarossa and some of the dumbest looking Neon's you'll ever see.

Note to the 20 year olds; Your Sti's and SRT's are not classic cruisers.

It would be nice if pedestrians would respect the traffic lights. We have people STARTING to cross just AFTER the light has turned against them. It's hard enough to get across Woodward as it is (light times Are shorter for intersecting streets).

Nice pics nonetheless. Who brought the military vehicle? (stryker?)

No matter how bored you get do not see that horrible movie.

Too bad about the rain, still looks like a blast. Those summer rainy days are really nice, otherwise, up in Dee-troit.

      Wish I coulda been there.

I drove in from Columbus,Ohio and I went with my dad. The rain came down during the morning. But it cleared up after that.
had a good time watching all the cars and all of the people. That is only our second one we have attended but we are going to go every year we possibly can. At the end of the night on Saturday we tried to cruise up and down but we only got one lap but we did get fed by Burger King right from our car and also we had our thirst satisfied the same way.
