The (former) Stig Speaks!
There is, arguably, no better show about cars, driving and four-wheeled debauchery then Top Gear. The hosts are open books when it comes to their opinions and personalities, but one member of the team has been veiled in a cloak of secrecy for years.Well, that veil has been lifted and the original, black (suited and helmeted) Stig has spoken out. His name is Perry McCarthy and Crash.net had a few moments to spend with the former F1 driver and LeMans veteran.
The interview covers a range of topics including his time with Clarkson and the gang, his education of celebrities for the "Star in a Reasonable Priced Car" segment and his untimely demise off the edge of an aircraft carrier.
Hopefully this, and torrent downloads, will curb your appetite until Top Gear returns in the fall.

The former stig? is that stig sr. where as the new stig in the white helm is stig jr? Either way, "Some say the outline of his left nipple is exactly the same shape as the Nürburgring, and if you give him a really important job to do, he'll skive off and play croquet. All we know is, he's called the Stig"

Judging from the quality of the english used in that newspaper article i'd hazzard a guess that it's taken from "The Sun" maybe? or possibly "The News of the World"? So it must be genuine, because we all know the tabloid press stand for nothing if not honesty and integrity. If Damon is The Stig, why is he wearing the wrong overalls? The Stig wears plain white a Alpinestars race suit, and that picture clearly shows a breast emblem and some other fancy trim near the shoulders.
In short, Damon Hill is NOT The Stig, if any more proof is needed, look the the F1 drivers board for "star in a reasonably priced car", Damon is on there, as is The Stig, The Stig is faster, by quite a long way.

McCarthy said he was the old Stig in his book...a long time ago...

No better show about cars? That should be stated "no better parady that portends to be a show about cars".
That show is a typical English humor joke that only idiots would believe... And yes, we have our share of those in the USA. (see most of the comments above...LOL)

Returns to where? The show has been back on the air in the UK since May... Where else does the show return to? And I don't care too much if it comes to the states, the US version was always watered down and edited. I much prefer the torrents from http://www.finalgear.com

Sorry man, but that picture was from some English tabloid and completely debunked. They printed it in b&w to give the impression that Damon Hill is the white Stig, but he was actually wearing a LIGHT BLUE suit that day, and a completely different helmet, as other pictures from the event show. The tabloid rags will print anything to sell copies; don't believe everything you see.
As for who the actual Stig is... Perry has been "uncovered" for years, ever since he wrote his book, and there is plenty of information on who the new Stig may be if you look in the right places. ;)

Top gear sucks? name a better automotive show out there? Top gear has flair, humor, insights, and is the most unbiased show out there. that doesn't mean it isn't biased. Clarkson has his discrimination. Still... name a better show. I think it's the best automotive show out there.

I am convinced i know who the new stig is. My friend used to see this guy who races karts in the midlands and around wales, he was all over the local papers for being a standby on the first series of "BIG BROTHER". his name is Perry. She says she saw hidden in his house the simpson Helmet, racesuit ,the lot.A very secretive guy too. When she mentioned it to him, he became very defensive, and ordered her to stop being silly and leave. They are still friendly to each other, and it is never mentioned.
