Update: Kia's new C-segment car: the Cee'd

[Updated with new photo] Called only the 'ED' when it was announced in July, Kia Motors' new model for Europe's all-important C-segment of small family cars will retain the unconventional name of its concept car predecessor - the Cee'd (pronounced "seed"). Apparently, the unwieldy moniker combines 'CE' - symbolizing the European Community - and 'ED' - standing for European Design. The role of the apostrophe remains unexplained...
The production version will debut at the Paris Motor Show in September, and go on sale before the end of the year. The Europe-only four-door hatchback will go head-to-head with Ford's European-model Focus, the Peugeot 307 and the Toyota Corolla.

Yet another subpar contender in this already-crowded segment...

Yeah, I'm seeing a lot of the Mazda3 5-door in the rear quarter of the car.

Well, now we know where the FORMER Lincoln marketing/model naming folks went. The car, former known are ED will now be called the CE'ED (seed). Proof that car companies REALLY have run out of names for new cars. What will Kia call a large/S-class car...the S'PERM?

I dont understand the 'Mazda 3' comments. I swear this is the most altima looking 1/2 evolution design car design. Look at those lamps especially! Cant wait to see what the rest of the car copies. Probably a Mazda 3...

A quick glance says "Subaru." Or what Subaru could have been.

We bought our daughter a new Saphia to drive to college in 2002. The car has never been in the shop and has almost 100 thousand miles on it now. It was a great investment for us. We got her through school at very low cost. She likes the car because it is very basic. She said she didn't feel like she was showing off the fact that she had a new car while many of the people she was around had old or no cars at all. We will buy another Kia with out blinking. Bring this car over to the USA.
