When creating a vehicle to commemorate a pair of Super Stock drag racing legends - in this case, Hubert "Georgia Shaker" Platt and Randy "Mr. Big Stuff" Payne - it's important not to mess around. Thus, Pure Power Motorsports created the Shadrach, a twin-turbo Mustang that boasts 900 hp and the necessary hardware to put that power to the ground.
Starting with a 2006 Mustang GT, the team stripped the car down to the shell. The engine, built by Al Moody Racing Engine, consists of the OEM block and CNC-ported 3-valve heads stuffed with some aftermarket forged parts. Up top sits a vintage-looking Kinsler velocity stack injection unit, with two injectors per cylinder. A pair of scrolls from Precision Turbo provides the pressurized intake charge, which is then cooled by a water-to-air intercooler setup. A T56 six-speed manual has the unenviable task of directing all of this power rearward.
Think not that the rest of the vehicle has been neglected in the pursuit of power. Ohlins dampers connect to a variety of AJE and Metco suspension parts, while a set of huge Brembo brakes slow things down. A Strange 9" Ford rear axle puts the power to the hopelessly overworked rear wheels.
The exterior gets treated to a Shadrach body kit, a trick side-exhaust systems, a monstrous Pro Stock-like wing, a set of 20" rollers, and vintage "The Going Thing" graphics. Inside lie a 6-point roll bar, a pair of leather-wrapped Recaro seats, and more carbon fiber than the average aerospace plant. Of course, Mr. Platt and Mr. Payne affix their signatures to the dash once everything is to their liking.

You know what, I don't even care anymore. We've gotten to the point where you can have as much power as you want and that's cool - but it's hardly special.
(But why did Bugatti have so much trouble developing a clutch for 1000hp if tuners do it all the time?)

#1 Carlos...the problem is reliability. You can have all the power in the world but if you cant stop frying the clutch or any other part, no one is gonna buy the product. Thats what it comes down to. Street racers have to change out clutches and various other parts a lot more often than the average Joe.
But a 900 hp Mustang is pretty wicked. But I have to agree, these hi-po cars are getting to be a little ridiculous. Sweet but too common...

Tuners can slap on parts, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the car can run at max potential day-in/day-out. Also, the clutch's failure point is generally at launch, so to take the abuse of the low-end power from a 16-cylinder powerplant is not trivial.
900hp on this thing still can't outrun ugly.

No mention of 1/4 mile times, this thing needs to be tubbed to get all that power to the ground. Otherwise its all up in smoke and all for not.

Except for the intake sticking out of the hood and having NO traction with those tires, I'd take it.
I happen to own a 95 Mustang that I turbo charged. With that displacement size motor, I'd be willing to be he was not running pump gas to get that 900hp, or he had to be running alcohol injection or something.

Great, they removed the rear seats (I'm assuming) and added a ton of weight under the hood. How are they intending to get the power to the road?
I have to agree with others. Color me unimpressed. It's just another tuner. You can get the same numbers out of a Chevrolet Cobalt, and probably for cheaper.
And to Shawn, there's a huge difference between a nice car and a tuner. Duck taping a $100 bill to a cow pie does not make that cow pie worth $100.

Nothing Special.
Japs were getting 1001Bhp into Skylines and Supras as far back as 1998 and they were good cars to start with. 900Bhp in a Mustang with its basic suspension setup/ technology is Death Waiting to happen.( Then again i noticed it said Drag Racers so i guess it does not need to turn much)
The Veyron was designed to work Everyday and without need for changing parts very other week.
Never forget "The Maclaren F1 was by far the most potent Supercar out there prior to the Bugatti but the bugatti is so Hyper that you can give the F1 a 120Mph headstart and the Bugatti will still beat it to 200Mph"
That last bit is a fact and even the makers of the Maclaren F1 do not deny it.

That last part is a load of shit.
The bugatti only gets up to 220-225 in one mile from a stop (depending on whether you are in top speed mode, lower drag top speed mode=225mph)
The Mclaren F1 gets up to 200mph in one mile.
The Mclaren F1 0-200 is 28 seconds.
The Bugatti Veyron is 22 seconds.
Maybe the Bugatti 'GT'[1250hp] when/if it comes out.
