Mitsubishi i Hello Kitty edition "in the metal"

Never mind the Mitsu-provided renderings we brought you earlier this month. Japan's Carview has been to the Mitsukoshi department store in Tokyo's Nihonbashi district, where the one-of-a-kind Mitsubishi i "Princess Kitty" special edition is on display.
True to the renderings, the Princess Kitty is a rolling tribute to the loveable Sanrio character. Pink paint, special decals, and a themed interior complete with kitty-shaped headrests are the car's not-so-subtle identifiers.
Later this week, a drawing will be held at the Mitsukoshi store to determine who gets the right to buy the car, which is likely the most interesting Hello Kitty collectible ever.
Head over to the translated Carview page to see the rest of their photo gallery.

...and Mitsubishi is marketing this car to who? ...well now we know why Mitsu is hurting, they're wasting time on this kind of crap instead of building decent cars. But now that Autoblog has posted this thing Mistsu must look at it as free advertising.

I can't believe a car company would come out with something this ugly and useless. But some dumb American will buy it. If proplr are buying ugly ass cars like the sciojn or element, then they will buy this. Just imagine though, what this car would look like when it gets hit by a drunk driver at 2:00a.m.

"...and Mitsubishi is marketing this car to who? ...well now we know why Mitsu is hurting..."
yeah, because wasting time and resources on a japanese-only, ONE-OFF, used to promote and advertise a relationship with Sanrio, with a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the car going to UNICEF...hell, that'll kill any automobile manufacturer.
idiot.

"But some dumb American will buy it."
No, some dumb American won't, because it will never be sold in the United States.

I hope someday we do get to see the i in the States. I don't mind the outside of this "Hello Kitty" that much, but the inside my drive me to schizophrenia.
Yeah, me too.
And I also would be driven insane.
What was I saying?

I'd buy one--if anything just to be able to find it in a mall parking lot...It looks like a "SMART"car which I wish they would hurry up & bring to the states. We always get stuff when it's no longer cool anywhere else.LOL

Yanno what? Some people have no sense of adventure and love of funky and different. This is a great/fun extra car to have just from a collectors aspect. If the price was reasonable, I'd buy it and garage it after I drove it for a bit! Wouldn't use it as my every day transportation , but its fun to own something like this. Then again Ive been having an urge to own a Smart Car too

I lived in Japan for 3 years and I can safely say that a lot of Japanese stuff is very cutesy like this. I love the car. You can buy everything else there in Sanrio fashion, why not a car?
