TVR coming to the U.S.?

According to the chairman and owner of British sports car maker TVR, Nikolai Smolenski, the marque could be returning to the U.S. market, once its Speed Six engine is upgraded to meet more stringent emissions standards.
Announcing an agreement with powertrain engineering specialists Ricardo plc, Smolenski said that with Ricardo's help the company plans to develop a Euro 5-compliant version of the Speed Six in the next 18 months, as part of the company's plan to expand its sales and distribution range throughout Europe and to U.S. and other international markets.
After the Speed Eight engine was discontinued at the end of 2004, the TVR Speed Six became the company's only production powerplant.

It seems that this would be a great decision for TVR to make. The U.S. marketplace needs more competition in this segment plus TVR needs a boost in profit. The balancing act is whether or not they can offset the cost of distribution and advertising.
I for one would love to own a TVR and in a few years I hope that is possible.

Provided they don't screw up the front end with any US safety regs, I will be on that wants to be on the list to buy one of these beauties.

they are going to have to jack up the price to cover costs and move the driver to the correct side but they sould be able to sell them in limited numbers.

naggs, LHD won't be a problem seeing as you can buy a TVR in other European countries, so they must have sorted that out a long time ago. I just hope they don't have to fit MGB rubber bumpers.
