Now that seemingly every car magazine on the planet has taken the Camaro concept for a "test drive," it looks like it's the celebrities' turn. Tonight Show host and hard-core car guy Jay Leno created the latest photo-op for the concept car last Friday, when he took it for a drive in Burbank, California, ending up at the retro-cool Bob's Big Boy diner for its Friday night American Graffiti-style Classic Car Show.

We eagerly await the Camaro concept's appearance in the Autoblog garage...

GM is really smart to have Jay Leno showing off this concept. I think we are all holding our breath that the production vehicle will be as impressive as this concept.

I think GM is walking a very fine line here.

They have gotten this concept EVERYWHERE it can possibly be seen, but now if they go and make a production model that is significantly different, I think they will be making a bigger mistake than if they dont produce it at all.

Build it like this... please... (i know the wheels amoungst other things have to go)

The Camaro will be a hit, the only thing GM has to do is price it right. Production cars will have to look just as good if not better than the concept car. make 60% of them V6 models with 250HP or better and priced low 20's. Z28's will have 400-425 HP and priced mid to high 30's and an SS model with 500 HP for high 30's. This car will do well for the simple fact there are so many Camaro Fans out there! It might not outsell the Mustang, but it will be competetive. First year sales need to be around 100K if not more.

To All The Jay Leno Critics, If you don't have something nice to say, Shut Up and GET A LIFE!

Jay and the Camaro are a great story together.

Jay is a real car guy. Not a hollyweird or 'pimp my ride' type. He has a good eye for design and understands the nuts & bolts. His own creations, collection, and work shop prove this.
With that in mind, he adds credibility when showing the Camaro. He would not be associated with a lame car.

What other celeb would have any merit?
What other celeb would really be truly enjoying the moment?

Is anybody truly sick of seeing Jay Leno everytime I read/hear/see anything car related.

      Makes me want to vomit.

Come on guys, this article is about the Camaro, not Leno. He's the marketing ploy, not the car. This is about the car. Get over who's showing it and discuss your opinions of this awesome car.

Ahem, now for the serious stuff. If Cheby makes this car, it WILL be a sales leader...Jeez, have you even LOOKED at the rest of the crap-cars Cheby makes? Decent cars, but no style what so ever. Wonder why??? You can thank Congress. Remember the CAFE standards? The overall fleet of a manufacturer must get so-and-so many MPG? Well, GM sells so many trucks and SUVs (profit leaders) that they HAVE to push a lot of crap out the door to meet CAFE quotas...thank you Congress for messing up Captilism...whoa, ok, back to the Camaro.
Ford has it right...multiple engines with the Mustang...all underpowered IMHO (low-end torque is poor...GT500 excluded, of course), but the chics can get the V-6, dudes the GT, and real men the Shelby GT 500 (God Bless him, who-ever he works with). If Cheby offers an entry V-6, the 295 HP Truck/SUV V-8 327, (GREAT motor!) and the tire-shreddin' Vette motor, this car will be Legendary! Class dismissed.

everything about jay--why are you all trash talking him?
he's an awesome guy that truly loves cars, not just because he can buy so many, and if you truly liked cars, you would know that jay does a lot for the industry and it's not all to brag to all of us that we don't have as much money or anything, and the harleys he sells on ebay, all the money goes to charities

this camaro thing though, it looks alright but i would say it needs coverage for the performance aspect and that it would be great if instead of gm just trying to revive a legend, they should make it better than it was or w.e

The original camaro still looks better.

Whats under the concepts hood? i'm surprised they haven't come out already and said they are gonna build it considering the gt500's are hitting the streets now and the challenger is coming. What are they waiting for?
