Aston Martin DBS - Bond's ride for the rest of us caught testing
Daniel Craig will be driving a fictionalized version of this Aston Martin DBS in the latest Bond flick called Casino Royale. Aston, however, will be building 300 road going versions of the car that's based on the DB9. The car has a wider track and lower ground clearance, a slightly restyled front end with additional air intakes, and its V12 engine will reportedly produce over 500 bhp. The price is expected to be around £130,000. [Source: WorldCarFans]

As much as I love Aston, can we not get a single freaking original design out of these guys?!

Meh, I would like to see Bond drive a real car, like a Corvette Zo6, or a Mustang GT500... oh, wait thats right... Bond is the guy the Brits made up when they stopped winning wars without American help.

PS. the cold war is over... Regain won it in the 1980's. and Bush (41) oversaw the destruction of the Berlin Wall.

#4... yeah, you're right. it'd be great for bond to drive a gt500 so he can go real fast in every straight line... are you stupid or insane? in case you hadn't noticed, bond is british... aston happens to make some gorgeous, well-performing cars right now... so you're right, he should automatically drive some american cars for no good reason... long live bond and his aston, the way it ought to be!

#6 If havn't seen the specs.....The GT500 pulls a .92 on skidpad and did a 69.7 in the 600ft slalom.
I hope this will be a bridge in a replacement for the lame-duck V12 vanquish.

the AM design is original. You probably think that Porsche 911 is unoriginal as well since it doesn't really change?
What would you rather them do? Make a good design, then make fucked designs for 30 years, then wake up one day and make a retro design to make up for all the years of crap that they put out.

what are you talking about 7:50AM (12/30/2006)
MR Talis,
are you yet another american idiot who weaves their way into websites, just to promote anti-british abuse.
now mr talis, can i inqure y you persist in claiming that britain is millitarily incapable?
also, it would apear that the u.s.a required britain to bak it up.
to add to that, bond will never drive some american car, as he is british.
there are many more things that i could brag on about, such as y america has just shit cars in the first place, but in short:
a) never come on this website again, if all you want to do is downrate the UK, its millitary, aston martin.
b) u can hardly talk, as your country is incapable of creating a car that doesn't look like george bush on wheels
c) i cannot remember a war that we lost, because of lack of american assistance
p.s. i would advise you keep you're trap shut, as this website is not meant to be used as a porthole of anti-british protest

To #10. Yes Aston is now owned by Ford (the same company that drags it back to financial disarray btw) - and Lamborghini and Bugatti are both owned by Volkswagen - so does that mean Murcielago and Veyron are just Golf? Sorry to say you are just as American as you are naive.
Ok I didn't want to drag myself into the UK vs. USA debate and i m neither - but I just could not stand the American arrogance that stinks in this site.
'Why can't James Bond drive a Mustang?' LOLOLOL
Why don't you go and ask your mother to give you a lap-dance - she's a woman!
So before the American cars can actually turn without ending up on a concrete wall, or handle like a Porsche and Lotus Elise, or braking like a McLaren or Ferrari, I suggest you, Mr Trails, whom I bet is a 650lbs American man with 5 days worth of facial hair growth, to shut your trap and learn about REAL engineering. Your military is strong yes, but as far as I can remember, your success in that field was not revived until the 1st Gulf war (remember in Vietnam? Korea? and now again in Iraq). And your F-22s are great - why can't your car companies do the same?
Like #12 said, just shut up and learn.
my 2 cents

Wow,
I guess there appears to be hostility from both sides. Just a wee bit immature and off point, but I'm an American who respects the British so hopefully, we can keep this to a discussion of the car.
My only regret about the upcoming DBS is naturally the price. It is absolutely beautiful, both inside and out) and it's got some decent power (with regard to its other high-powered competitors), but it's a shame-albeit understandable with such low volumes-that it will most likely crack the 200K usd mark. That is just painful.
