Renault plans more power for Megane RS
With the launch of the 197 hp Clio Renault Sport, Renault is working on a horsepower upgrade for its bigger sibling, the Megane Renault Sport (shown at right in five-door trim). What Car? reports that Renault's engineers have massaged the 2-liter 16-valve turbo four in the Megane to yield 250 horsepower - a 25 hp boost from the current edition of the Megane RS. To help manage the extra power, the FWD Megane is said to be getting a new powertrain management system
The fortified Megane RS will be launched later this year at the Paris Motor Show.

When are they going to bring Renaults to America? That's my question. I believe they would do pretty well in the import scene.

So, how long before this shows up repackaged as a Sentra SE-R? Keep the hatch, please.

It looks eerily similar to the Versa. The rear end is definitely unique.

Depending on if you can handle the rear of it, I'd say the rest of it looks better then the Versa. But that's just me.

Actually, it might be more accurate to say the Versa looks like this car, since Renault adopted this...overall style(?)about the time they merged with Nissan, or shortly thereafter.

Oh my god, I threw up a little in my mouth.
The French are mad. At least when they smell they can put on French perfume, but what can cover my eyes from that automotive abortion?

instead of more power, they should give it less ugly

Ugly or not, its more exciting than the plain looking Versa, which is based on the same platform - the Tiida, Versa, and Megane all use the Nissan "B" platform.

"...new powertrain management system"
= drive by wire throttle, with "torque management" so you don't break your wrist due to the violent torque steer or shred your clutch because you floored it in 2nd.
