Renault plans more power for Megane RS

With the launch of the 197 hp Clio Renault Sport, Renault is working on a horsepower upgrade for its bigger sibling, the Megane Renault Sport (shown at right in five-door trim).

What Car? reports that Renault's engineers have massaged the 2-liter 16-valve turbo four in the Megane to yield 250 horsepower - a 25 hp boost from the current edition of the Megane RS. To help manage the extra power, the FWD Megane is said to be getting a new powertrain management system

The fortified Megane RS will be launched later this year at the Paris Motor Show.
