Return of the Slant Nose Porsche

A while back we showed you how a Porsche 996 owner could fast forward time and transform his car's "fried egss" headlamps into the proper ovals found on the new 997 models. Auto-expert of Germany has now stepped up to show 996 owners how to rewind time back to an era when the pages of Dupont Registry were filled with Slant Nose Porsches. The Porsche 996 Flat Nose conversion was debuted at the 5th International Porsche Treffen show in Germany amongst 1,642 Porsche owners and their cars. Auto-expert announced these Porsche 996 Flat Nose body parts would be available before the end of the year, though no prices were announced.

Interesting concept but terrible execution. That nose piece is laughably amateurish.

Ummm... why would anyone want to turn their new Porche into an '87 RX-7 replicar?

That looks just like something I made one time in Home Economics. My teacher called it the souffle' from hell, I didn't pass.

Look a Porsche with a 90's MR2 body-kit!

Yeah, poorly executed. You can't just glue something on the nose of a Porsche and call it good.
I think a better end result would have been achieved if someone would have given me that Porsche's engine to replace the broken blender in my '87 Rx-7.

I never liked the Slantnose look anyway, but the execution on this is, as mentioned before, terribly amateurish.

Had potential to look good, but they totally botched the job.

That really looks like a 2-week rush job.
Lousy integration, visual flow is hideous. Hell, I think this dork even cheaped out on the projectors.
Burn that POS, and put the hack who did the design/build back in the oil-change pit, where he belongs.

I think actually matching the paint would have been a good first step.

It looks just as good as the original slant nose 911s. Which is to say, like sh!t.

Why show this in public? This is hideous and certainly nothing to be proud of. I recall reading several entries yesterday about the 911 post and comments coming back were "dull", etc. Compared to this - I'd take a dull looking 911 anyday, except that day during a leap year. Then I'd take two!

I guess that the lights will flip up all the way from the windshield. I see no grooves.

Good to see that the slant nose conversion still looks horrible, at least some things never change. All the slant nose was, was a way for 911 owners to think they where better then other 911 owners since they payed way to much for that nose job. Much like amg owners vs regular MB's or Brabus owners vs AMG owners.
Yes you have more money and are stupid enough to waste it like that. Congrats!

After seeing this, I suddenly have a whole new appreciation for Porsche's stagnant designs.
