Video: Pumpcast coming to a gas station near you?
With gas prices so high these days, a little levity pump-side is hard to come by. Thankfully, there's Pumpcast, an interactive gag catching motorists while they fill up their tanks and empty out their wallets. This video stems NBC's Tonight Show hosted by car buff Jay Leno, and features a number of segments in which customers are addressed directly by a fake newscaster. Sadly, Conan O'Brien regular Triumph The Insult Comic Dog is nowhere to be found. Enjoy it regardless.

Pumps have had TVs in them for years. I assume their purpose was to district you so you would pump more gas in than you had planned. That was perfectly fine when gas was under a buck, but now...

it just so happens that Triumph is from Conan, not Jay.

I saw one of these a few years back at a gas station in Columbus, Ohio. The gas station in question was near the Columbus Airport. I have to say it gave me something to do while I was sitting there giving away my lifes savings. If I remember right the one I looked at had cnn on the screen

Jesus, all the newscaster does is say "HEY, YOU THERE!" to throw off the motorist, which loses some of its originality after the 78th time.
It's amazing how unimaginative Leno can be with his skits, knowing the potential for comedy here. Then again, it's amazing enough that he came up with one at all, knowing how 90% of them are based on ripping off existing content (i.e. headlines) or letting participants provide all the humor (i.e. sidewalking).
The day in 2009 when Conan gets his job can't come soon enough.

Regarding Triumph, I think he was just saying it's a shame there is not some real humor in it, not that the Dog is on Leno.
