Admittedly, we're not quite sure why it has taken nearly five years for aftermarketer ReVerie to figure out how to build a hardtop for the Lotus 340R. That said, given the British sportscar's unconventional design, it couldn't have been a simple task.

Regardless, the company is finally launching its Lotus lid, and would-be customers in the neighborhood of its facilities are invited to its 'launch party,' at which time prospectives can check out the company's carbon fiber bits as well as the hard top.

Judging from the looks of it, and knowing how difficult it can be to gracefully get into a 340R to begin with, it would appear the diminutive gullwing-style doors may prove to be difficult to navigate for some owners. Still, upping the usability quotient of a street-legal trackday weapon like the 340R is likely to have more than a few takers.
