Fans of Electronic Arts' "Medal of Honor" will be pleased to know that life will become a little more exciting in the follow-up game, "Medal of Honor Airborne," thanks to the power of product placement. Jeep's Overland-Willys vehicle, revisiting its World War II roots, will act as a mobile attack platform as well as a driveable vehicle that can access more areas of the game than other available vehicles in the game, which is due to launch in January of 2007 for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, XBOX 360 and PC. Jeep's past video game involvement also includes "Tony Hawk's Underground 2."

A more perfect product placement is hard to find in the video game business, methinks.

Actually, the product placement would be better if it was an actual car that jeep has for sale... maybe by offering cheat codes so you can drive new jeeps and feel the improvment they'd get more benifit for their marketing dollar. That would be a good product placement.

This fits in perfect with Jeep, being it's the machine of heros!

That photo? Is it a Jeep--a real Jeep? It looks like a Japanese copy of a Jeep to me.

I find this interesting, the original "Jeep" was either the Ford GPW or Willys-Overland MB. Willy-Overland became Willys Motor Company, which became Kaiser-Jeep Corporation, which became American Motors Corporation, which became Chrysler Corporation, which is now currently DaimlerChrysler AG. "Jeep" didn't exist as a trademark until post WW2 when Willys got it because everybody was calling their (and ford's) vehicle a Jeep.
In reference to a WW2 game Jeep was not around, it was a nickname. Seems strange, in the context, that one would need to license Jeep since if used in WW2 it could only be a nick name and not a reference to a trademark. Other than the character Eugene the Jeep where the nick name came from which is probably copyright..

Hey 3. I think that's one of the earliest Willy Jeeps. Given that the jeep was contracted for production to several companies during the war there were several variants running around and the design evolved slightly during the war in order to accomodate supply and production limitations.
