VIDEO: Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano test
Auto Motor und Sport taped itself terrorizing an unidentified countryside with the very new Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. The first part of the video sees the mud-spattered Ferrari being deftly piloted on a wet and winding road by a driver who knows how to handle his oversteer. The 599 GTB Fiorano, which replaces the 575M Maranello, looks like a Playmate posing for the camera and its 620-hp, 6.0L V12 engine not only looks like art but sounds like a symphony stuck on fast-forward.
Thanks for the vid-tip, Brian!

Man, it takes some balls to drive that fast on a road that wet, with a car that costs THAT much. Impressive.

That guy's driving was incredible.
The car itself is, of course, awesome, all but the interior, that is. What a strange mix of colors and textures they used. Carbon fiber with leather with fake chrome? In a Ferrari? You guys can do better!

That may be my new favorite Ferrari. Wow.

The drivers performance was incredibly good. He will probably make a corolla look faster than a bmw.

Great video. Thanks for posting it.

I would have to say that is some of the most dangerous driving I have ever seen. That road is so narrow and its wet. But the car seems to handle well

I understand German, and that car had ESP (electronic stability control or something [traction control]). All the driver was doing was adjusting the amount of control force with that little dial. (you can hear the narrator say 'ESP' and traction in a german accent. So while it's a nice car, even you could do that after a few hours of practice (maybe).
{do not try this at home, all liability is waived upon reading this comment :-}

But on the dial he had it turned all the way off. To the left is the "wet" setting, and to the right (where he was turning it) is all the way off.

up untill i saw this video i thought the 599 GTB was the uglyest ferrari ever. now i see that the car isnt photogenic but when you see it in action it is intoxicatingly beautiful and as much a ferrari as any other. good stuff. maybe a black one would be nice.
kyle @ Jun 5th 2006 5:45PM
Or maybe a tour de france blue would be nice.
