Mitsubishi builds the ultimate iPod Nano case

Sure you could purchase a $35 plastic case to protect your shiny (for now) iPod Nano, but does it have disc brakes and airbags? Mitsubishi has taken iPod protection to a whole new level with its integrated Nano slot in the i (eye) city car's dash. Just plug in your iPod and enjoy the security only a car can provide. At around $15,000 it may not be the most economical case in which to shroud your iPod, but it's the only one that comes with a turbocharged three-cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive.

I wonder if it will cause the iPod to crack exhaust manifolds or drop its valve stem guides in the Mitsubishi tradition?

Everytime Mitsu unveils something inovative the bashing against Mitsu starts! Mitsu is a company that is turning around and is proving it with its sales gaining momentum all this year. Just wait until the new Outlader which is OUTSELLING the Toyota Rav4 in Japan comes out here this Fall. Yeah the Raider was a big mistake for Mitsu. But so was the echo for Toyota. As for GM I won't even go there, I think Mitsu has a brighter future and no greedy uaw on their ass.
A small compact car like that is needed here in the US for Mitsu to compete with Scion and the Yaris. The Colt will be released in Mexico this year where Mitsu has had a record breaking year (2005, and continues) in sales in Latin America.

I hope Mitsu has learned some lessons over the last ~10 years, but I'm not sure.
Neat looking piece, but they have had some global quality issues that are into GM territory - not a recipe for success, as most of us know. Automotive has also lost money hand over fist for way longer than I have seen salvaged. Who knows, they might pull it off.
BTW- 'Your mom' please find a school and take a class in logic. 'Let's see you do it...' is, at best, merely retort. It is not a sound basis for argument or critique.
I know that I cannot sing as well as Pavarotti. I also know that neither Britney Spears or William Hung can sing as well as a Basset Hound being repeatedly stabbed with a dull fork.
Critique of the latter has nothing to do with being able to perform as well as the former.

Yes, the i is RWD. Small engine behind the rear wheels, accessible by lifting the rear cargo cover, just like the Smart ForTwo, which I think this the i is a distant cousin of. Mitsubishi and Smart collaborate on the ForFour and the i I thought was also a collaboration of sorts.
Interesting vehicle - will it have a place in the NA market if oil & gas prices skyrocket?

The i isn't a collaboration with Smart, although there are some design similarities. The guy who drew the original sketches for both (Oliver Boulet, I think) was managing all Mitsu design around that time. However, after the initial design concept was formed. the two projects split up, which accounts for the differences you see today.
The i-iPod collaboration is just a natural tieup because the same kinds of people who will spend a bundle on the overpriced but stylish iPod will likely spend a bundle on the similary stylish and moderately pricey "i".

How about some sort of adapter for "smart people" who purchased a superior music player at a lower price?
