I want my MTTV

Motor Trend will be launching a 24-hour broadcast TV network sometime in 2007 that will be available via multicast broadcasts. The network will be available in local markets where broadcasters find themselves with excess bandwidth during the transition from analog to all-digital broadcasts. Apparently MTTV will be the filler of choice for these stations that are looking for digital content to offer. Multicast Networks Group is partnering with Motor Trend’s parent company, PRIMEDIA, to shop the network around the country to station’s starving for content.
The endeavor will be an interesting experiment and will certainly test how far the Motor Trend brand can be stretched. Will you watch?

If they start picking up things that speed channel should be covering. WRC, WTCC, Aussie V8's, DTM, etc...

As long as they don't rerun EVERY program 20 times a week, like Speed, it should be ok....

If they broadcast the WRC races and Formula 1 I'll watch.
When Speedvision dropped WRC for NASCAR and dumb reality shows, they lost my interest.

oh yes. I've been waiting for this all my life. As long as they dont have NASCAR type stuff on all the time (the reason i hate SPEED). Yall ever see their short programs on spike TV's powerblock on the weekends? If they basically expanded on that, i'm never watching anything else on TV... not that there's much to watch anyways.

I would watch. I used to enjoy Car and Driver TV but it got cancelled due to ratings. While that show was way different from the Spike TV Powerblock I wonder how much a non-Nascar non-hot rod/truck show will do. Us non-Nascar non-hot rod/truck people don't have anything to watch except for Motorweek.... but let's be honest, Motorweek could use a bit more style. I guess there's always video podcasts...

We need Fifth Gear in the US!!! Or at least a clone. Maybe MTTV will provide similar programming.

Sorry Corey, it's a startup channel. They'll be repeats like there'll be round headlights on a Wrangler.

Yeah as long as NASCAR doesn't take over. They should have car mechanic stuff (upgrades and such), new car reviews and previews, car shows, etc. Include some forgien car stuff too not just domestics.

I don't think NASCAR will take over considering they already own the SPEED CHANNEL but who knows. The more networks covering autos the better! It would be nice to see a dedicated channel covering the whole automobile sprectrum.

I'd hope they would play the 8th season of Top Gear, and play their re-runs....their magazine has always seemed closer to an infomercial than a serious publication...I know that C/D, R&T and Automobile all have their detractors, but they are going to need content and there are a bunch of imports that they could play...I'd love to see WRC, DTM/BTCC and other cool motorsports that Speed forgot about when they became all nascar, all the time. And I really would like to see vintage car commercials on it. TVland runs old commercials from time to time, and I really like them...there has to be a ton of footage in everyones vaults...
