Alfa Romeo 8C Spider on a fast track to production?
Alfa Romeo's gorgeous 8C Spider concept supercar took home two of the top awards at the Villa d'Este Concours d'Elegance, north of Milan. Thousands of Concours attendees voted for the comely Italian, earning it the BMW Group Design Award and the Villa d'Este Design Award. The Alfa is a drop-top version of firm's 2003-2004 8C Competizione concept.
It's been rumored that the Spyder is being seriously considered for production, and it has also been rumored that Alfa is coming back to the States... maybe the extensive touring (inside the U.S. and worldwide) of the vehicle and the recent awards are two clues as to the validity of the rumors? One can only hope.

Is that yet another Solstice mod?

Beautiful- in much the same manner as a Solstice.
Too bad it will be a peice of crap - in much the same manner as past Alfas.
If a piece of crap can be beautiful, then this is it.

This is what the Solstice could look like if GM had any talent and wasn't in such a frickin hurry. Gorgeous vehicle.

Seems we're all seeing a Kappa here. Might have been one, too, if GM had bought Fiat. But since they didn't what chassis is this based on? Alfa went FWD some time ago.

Absolutely beautiful.
Though if they were to produce it in the same manner as the concept, this would be a prohibitively expensive car, what with its 4.2L V8 engine. Est. 0-100 km/h is 4.5 seconds.

Without the Alfa badge/grill on the front, I would have thought it a Corvette concept...

Put a double kidney grille on that thing and it's what the z8 should have been.

Comparing this beauty to the Solstice is like comparing the XLR to the Solstice.
The concept upon which this is based uses RWD and a 400HP 4.2L TURBOCHARGED V-8. More Maserati than Fiat for sure. Whether it uses a V-8 or Alfa's new 3.2L V-6, it will still be one hot ride!

I don't know why I didn't think of the Maserati. Clearly the price would be at least $70,000 is sold here.

If it's 400HP, then it's not turbocharged.

"Is that yet another Solstice mod?"
Ye of no taste. This Alfa is too beautiful and classic to not be built.
"Put a double kidney grille on that thing and it's what the z8 should have been."
Are you kidding me?? Not even close.
"is that a bugatti logo on the blue car cover in the background? could it be the veyron jr.?"
Uh... no, that IS the Veyron.

I hope they bring this to the states. I have a 91 Spider, and it's a super car, but I'd sure like to get one of these too. Alfa's are great cars.

This alfa is really a beautiful car, is better as the brera spyder (too much GM DNA).
Alfa 8C is sure that will be an exclusive car, not for every body.
