NASCAR: Aaron's 499 at Talladega
The Nextel Cup series is back to restrictor-plate racing this weekend at the Talladega Superspeedway. This week sees the debut of NASCAR's new "soft bumpers," which NASCAR hopes will cut back on wreck-inducing bump drafting. We'll see.

MotoGP: Grand Prix of Turkey
American Nicky Hayden topped the timesheets on his factory Honda in the first day of practice, as defending world champion Valentino Rossi could manage no better than 11th.

AMA Superbike: Fontana, California
Supersport points leader Roger Lee Hayden will have to leave his Kawasaki in the trailer for the next few races after suffering a broken leg last weekend at Bar ber Motorsports Park, making Yamaha's Jamie Hacking the de facto points leader. Meanwhile Superbike points leader Ben Spies is coming off a dominating performance at Barber. Spies and teammate Mat Mladin are the only racers in the field who have won before at Fontana.

NHRA: O'Reilly Thunder Valley Nationals, Bristol, Tennessee
The famous Bristol Dragway hosts the NHRA tour this weekend, for the sixth round of the championship season. Melanie Troxel (Top Fuel) and Ron Capps (Funny Car) are both leading their divisions by more than 100 points heading into Thunder Valley.
