A cool million and change for a Bugatti Veyron a little too rich for your blood? Autobild ran a story on the vehicle that will put the likes of the BMW M coupe and roadster, Audi TT and Porsche Boxter/Cayman squarely in its sights -- a Bugatti coupe and roadster that will cost a measly $62,300. The little Bugatti may have only a four-cylinder engine, but at just 2450 lbs. the little car will have the power-to-weight ratio to blow the 0-60 times of its competition right out of the water -- thanks to the aluminum body, the vehicle should make the trip to highway speed in four to five seconds.
Thanks to Noah for the tip.

Damn, I had better start saving my pennys. Cool looking car, and it probably won't dilute the brand, seeing as the Veyron stands on its own very well.

Sounds like competition for the Lotus Elise, just with a pricetag +$20K.
KanseiZM @ Apr 27th 2006 9:58AM
anything that looks like the veyron but with that weight and price tag is fine by me :)

The little Bugatti may be the car that many Indians and Chinese rich are looking for. In 2005, DaimlerChrysler sold more than 2000 cars in the Indian market.(http://www.southasiabiz.com/2006/04/daimlerchrysler_moving_in_top.html).Why not Bugatti?

I like the idea, but there's a lot of competition out there for less than $62K.

Heartily agree.

I'd be in

Wait a minute.
Does VW really WANT the Audi TT in another one of its product's sights? They own Bugatti, after all...
Geeze, have they not learned from the Phaeton (same class as an Audi A8)?
No, I suspect that this is going to be a step UP from the TT, but same platform (VW A platform). It even looks a little TT-ish in the drawings.

No thank you. I like the Veyron alot, but to me this is like buying a Corolla that looks like an Enzo. Ok, maybe its not that bad, but the car should look distinctly different from the Veyron.
na @ Apr 27th 2006 12:20PM
Might as well me the next Toyta MR-2. It looks like a girls car! This will be the next car for a the rich dudes misstresses.

Well, I hope it's a big, turboed 4.. otherwise it's going to be embarrassed by Spec-V's and SI's.
Al @ Apr 27th 2006 1:43PM
Shame that they want to use the 2.0L 4cyl turbo from the Golf (sources...here: http://www.autobild.de/erlkoenige/neuheiten/artikel.php?artikel_id=11242 ... and here: http://www.autoblog.it/post/3593/arriva-una-baby-bugati-da-50000-euro) ...A Bugatti to be a Bugatti needs its own powerplant, not a souped up Golf GTI engine and different body work...
No go for me.

Who would have thought a KARMEN GHIA would look like this ,40 yrs ago....Really, VW Chasis ..Learned long time ago about VW 4s Nice paint and wheels though LOL
felix @ Apr 28th 2006 12:15AM
Where is the engine? Mid or front? that would make a big difference in my mind. It wont be too TT ish if its RWD and mid engined. By the way i'm in china and people just arn't into things that are small and lightweight. Rich people here would much rather pay 150+ grand for a Porsche Cayanne (that's really what they cost here)
Jack Ford @ May 1st 2006 8:26PM
Hey! It's a Bugatti and with the right paint job it would look like a million. I'm ready to buy two
Colorado Jeff @ May 1st 2006 10:37PM
Where do I get one? Sign me up! Hope the real thing is something very similar to the concept.
VICTOR LASLO @ May 1st 2006 11:51PM
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE ORIGINAL BUGATTI'S LOOKED LIKE ? THIS IS A JAPANESE-INSECT-BUBBLE CREATION.EVEN THE STUPIDLY EXPENSIVE VEYRON IS NOTHING COMPARED TO THE MAGNIFICENT ORIGINAL MACHINES. LET THEM KEEP IT, NO THANKS.
George Cranwell @ May 2nd 2006 12:33AM
When Jeff Surdyk buys this car sign me up!
King James @ May 2nd 2006 1:00AM
You may not want to hear it, you pack of posers, but the Corvette will give you all the power your wimpy selves need, a bulletproof engine & drivetrain, a huge resale market when your wife makes you sell it because she's pregnant, and $10,000. in change. You think that owning some niche car will invent a personality for you? Get on the winning team and go with good ol' Yankee tin!
bruno @ May 2nd 2006 1:21AM
it looks like one of the cars from the upcoming animation called "cars"
