The Zen that is driving in Cleveland
Hopefully Ohio has more exciting scenes to record than this. Hey, it's a Sunday.

As a native Clevelander, the video brought me home in a way. Also, don't overlook the fact that you see some nice architecture including Jacob's field, some older buildings, and some modern ones, (forgot the name of that silver one). Plus it shows how clean Cleveland is downtown. It can be very meditative while listening to Schubert.

This video is a perfect example of one of the reasons I left Ohio in 1999 and moved to Southern California.

Southern California is great if you enjoy driving 5 mph and being around superficial people (not that all of them are), and if you think of New England as an arm, NY City would be the armpit of America, plus it's dirty and crowded. :-)

Ditto that. Left Cleveland in 1995, and Ohio in 2005.

Hey, thanks!
Haven't been back to Cleveland for almost 10 years (moved to San Francisco 34 years ago).
Acually, it's not a drive "down" E. 9th Street, but up toward Lake Erie. That pyramid-shaped building at the end on the left is the Rock and Roll Museum and it's an absolutely MUST SEE for anyone visiting that area.
That video almost made me homesick, but not quite;-).

It doesnt take long to figure out that happeness can be found in different places for different reasons. I left Ohio because of the weather and watching my parents stay together for the sake of the kids..now that I am in California it is interesting watching self obsorbed baby boomers who think their every thought and action is not 100% Transparent...even funnier is the east coast version which is even more transparent. When you live with 2 people pretending every day you get a Masters Degree in bullshit preparedness. If some video of Ohio ellicts this kind of responce it's a good thing. One of the great things about Ohio is its nothingness..It's peaceful and non-bothersome. That is more than I can say for some moments in California with the mouthy attitude and pump up pride that is wafer thin on real substance.

Let's see: manageable city, great amenities, 4 seasons, friendly people. Great restaurants and music, a terrific art museum, Great Lake, Metroparks, bike trails, green and lush.
A day's drive from Toronto, NY, Philly, Chi-town, DC for big-city stuff, and from NY's Finger Lakes, the Poconos and Adirondacks, West Va.'s mountains, countless small lakes, Western PA, Amish country, rolling hills, wide farmland...
I'm NYC born, LA raised, 9-year Seattlite... I live three blocks from the lake. I can afford my mortgage.
Check out coolcleveland.com to see just how much there is to do here.
I'm staying here.
