Mazda3 production grinds to halt in China
Just one month after going on sale in China, Mazda's joint-venture plant that produces the Mazda 3 has fallen silent. While the Chang'an Ford Motors Corp facility isn't releasing the official reason for the cessation, analyst Hu Song of Haitong Securities Co. Ltd. believes the situation is the result of " believe it is the result of "a split on the production and sales channel between Chang'an Ford Motors Corp and FAW Mazda sales company during their consolidation of the Chinese market." Uh-huh. That's exactly what we figured, too.
There is no word or timetable on if or when production is set to resume.

What the hell did they expect when dealing with these people? To follow the law? Ha!

But as Mr Bush say's "They're good trading partners" Uh huh.
And think about this, what about the things they make for us that we are becoming more dependent on them for. Then what price "outsourcing"?

That's right, guys! This incident is just more evidence that the Chinese are, as a whole, terrible human beings!
Christ. Do you know how much you'd be pissing and moaning if the computer screen you're looking at now was built in Arkansas and cost $2,000?
Oh, and if you love GM, thank China for helping them stay in business. The rich urban class buys Buicks and Cadillacs like crazy.

Oh, and if you love GM, thank China for helping them stay in business. Their factory workers build the 3.4-liter V6 for the Chevy Equinox and Pontiac Torrent, and the rich urban class buys Buicks and Cadillacs like crazy.

Firstly, the computer screen from Arkansas would not cost 2,000. That is insanity, when CRT televisions can be had for under a $100.
Secondly, it would be nice to see the Chinese open up their market. They have basically created "model" cities for tourists and business people to visit, where no Chinese can afford to live or are even welcome to live. What kind of society is this? One controlled by a conservative, military government, but needing outside money to reach industrialization goals. Societies that are trapped in economic slumps will, traditionally go to war, use drug/liquor/slave trade, and or guns/munitions to build the necessary capital to move into the next growth. China is doing this with controlled slave labor of its masses. The workers in factories are not part of communities that provide health care, education, and a standard of living at a middle class level. Basically, the worker is housed in a factory dormitory, no selection, with substandard conditions. They may never see their family again. The rural conditions have deteriorated, with the government reversing all subsidies for education, health and living (food, housing...). It is all to fuel the workers into the factories to make the money to elevate the country into an economic leap to the 21st century.
The US did this several times, oh, yeah, we're doing it now in Iraq. But our country was founded on slavery (granted we imported ours and still do in illegal immigrants for the most part), rum trade and tobacco and, yes, guns.
Every major economic advancement that happened quickly by a country has a seamy side. China is just disgusting right now. The US and US companies are part of the inhumanity that is happening.
So we can have a cheaper ashtray, child toy, car alternator, and computer monitor. There wouldn't be outrageous prices if all products were US made, but it would be more expensive. Because the family in Arkansa s is living in a free society, voting for their politicians, practicing a religion of their choice, writing letters to complain about the government on the internet, and many of the things we take for granted, are just not 'free' but come at a price. Isn't it worth it to spend a little more, and buy US than to support the raping of a nations workers? I think so, but, greed is overwhelming in the world. China needs to modernize, but enslaving their farm workers into factories is a sad thing. Don't be naive in thinking there is freedom in China for the citizens/workers. Our politicians show no spine, and do not stand up to these injustices we should have learned from in this country's development.

Globalization is screwing everyone but the politicians and corporate dickheads over. We see Chinese people working almost as slaves, making substandard crap that breaks down, while the Chinese use their share of the profits to build up their military. Mind you, this has come to pass AFTER the Chinese government and military have stated that they might decide to attack us one day, and AFTER Bill Clinton gave China favored trade status. Bush is merely a repeat of Clinton in this regard. I would prefer to buy things made in the US, but American corporations won't hire us. We're screwed by all these dickheads, but if we minimize our purchases then we can send a message to the bastards who act like economic dictators. Message: HIRE AMERICANS TO WORK IN AMERICAN FACTORIES, OR LOSE SALES.
