Man sells car for drugs, then reports vehicle stolen

This is either a sad story, or a candidate for the world's dumbest criminal.

Neal Stevenson needed drugs. So he sold his car, a 1999 Honda Accord, to a 16 year-old for $150 worth of cocaine. Later, Stevenson contacted the police and reported that his vehicle had been stolen. The police tracked it down the next day, at which point the new owner showed the title with Stevenson's signature.

Both Stevenson and the 16-year old were arrested.

Shades of Culture Club lead singer Boy George, who reported a similar situation last year, though he claimed his residence was robbed.
